Many people are starting to rethink how much red meat they eat and for good reason 🥩
Research shows that high consumption of red and processed meats may be linked to an increased risk of certain cancers, particularly when consumed frequently over time. Factors like processing, cooking at high temperatures, and inflammation may all play a role.
The good news is that you don’t need to make extreme changes. Small shifts like choosing poultry or fish more often, limiting processed meats, and adjusting cooking methods can support your long-term health.
At HealthTree Foundation, we share research-backed insights to help you feel more confident in your health decisions.

Mental health is an essential part of cancer care 💚
As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are sharing key takeaways from our recent webinar with Dr. Meagan Dwyer on coping with the emotional challenges that can come with cancer.
From managing anxiety and stress to recognizing when it may be time to seek extra support, this conversation offered practical tools and compassionate guidance for both patients and caregivers.

On May 13, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved an all-oral combination of decitabine and cedazuridine (Inqovi, Taiho Oncology) with venetoclax (Venclexta, AbbVie and Genentech) for adults with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The combination was approved for people 75 or older and those who are not eligible for intensive induction chemotherapy.

According to a Taiho Oncology press release, Dr. Harold Keer, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer of Taiho Oncology, shared that this approval represents an important step forward in expanding treatment options for this patient population by offering an all-oral approach that may help reduce the burden associated with hospital visits or infusion centers.
