When was the last time you did self-care for yourself? It’s common for mom’s to say that they don’t have time to fit that into their schedule or they feel guilty about taking the time. Sometimes mom’s have gotten so into the habit of completing checklists throughout the day that they don’t even know what self-care would look like for them. There’s always a reason to put it off, but before you are able to help your child work on the ability to self-regulate, you have to be in a balanced place yourself. Self-care allows you to take the time to be still, to recover and to tune in to what’s needed. Until you take care of yourself, you won’t be able to take care of others. Because you cannot give what you do not have.
