Today’s spotlight is on the power of lived experience.
Elias and Melinda have walked the same paths our families face today from the courtroom to the heart of advocacy.
Their journey together began behind prison walls, built through calls, letters, visits, and faith. Elias served 17 years in a California state prison before returning home to rebuild his life, his purpose, and his family. Melinda also knows the system from another angle: the pain of watching her brother receive a 64 to life sentence, a moment that reshaped her family and pushed her into the advocacy she leads today. These experiences aren’t from a textbook; they’re real life. And that’s what sets Ripple Effect apart.
We’ve survived the system. We’ve been those families in crisis. And that’s why we stand shoulder to shoulder with you because no one should have to face this alone.
