We know that when school is out, many families face additional challenges putting meals on the table. That's why we're proud to help spread the word about other free meal resources available throughout our community.

This summer, the YMCA Healthy Living Mobile Kitchen will provide FREE healthy meals for children and adults accompanied by a child at seven locations across Lansing and East Lansing.

It takes a community working together to ensure every child has access to nutritious food all summer long. While Southside Community Kitchen continues serving free lunches Monday through Thursday, the YMCA's Mobile Kitchen offers even more opportunities for families to access healthy meals throughout the day.

School’s almost out, summer is near, and there’s always a seat at the table at Southside Community Kitchen!

Our June menu is filled with delicious homemade meals, but the best part is the welcoming community waiting for you when you walk through the door. Whether you come for lunch, conversation, or connection, you’ll always find friendly faces and a place where you belong.

We are incredibly honored that Southside Community Kitchen was one of just six organizations featured in this award-winning, community-engaged documentary storytelling initiative created by students from the Center for Integrative Studies in Social Science at Michigan State University.

This powerful project highlights the importance of community, connection, and the work being done every day on Lansing's south side to ensure our neighbors have access to food and free, welcoming meals. We are deeply grateful to the students and faculty who chose to share our story and help amplify the mission of SCK.

We invite you to watch and celebrate the incredible impact of community collaboration. Together, we are building a longer table.

Thanks to our incredible supporters, we’ve already served more than 5,000 meals since January!
