The Friends of Lansing's Historic Cemeteries

The Friends of Lansing's Historic Cemeteries These volunteers help improve & maintain the city-owned Evergreen, Mt. Hope & North Cemeteries A few lone volunteers can’t keep up!

That’s why a number of us who care about our cemeteries have formed the Friends of Lansing’s Historic Cemeteries. We aim to educate the community about the cemeteries, to increase awareness of and appreciation for them. We also will advocate for the cemeteries at the department and city level, so they receive more attention and resources from the city. We have begun planning for future projects, s

uch as conducting a ground penetrating radar survey of North Cemetery. Where allowed, we offer hands-on assistance, like righting and stabilizing smaller markers.
