A theme like β€œRooted in Lasting Excellence” only means something if a school lives it out from day one. Livingston Classical Academy did exactly that last week. Grounding an entire year in a single guiding idea is what turns a slogan into a culture kids actually feel.

Here’s to a year where that root system holds strong. 🌳❀️

Every school year starts with the people behind it. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Meet the Falcon team at Star International Academy Canton β€” a school built to reflect its community, offering Arabic language instruction and an internationally focused curriculum alongside the school day families expect. That’s what school choice is about: schools designed around the families they serve, not the other way around. Welcome back, Falcon families!

Community events like Park-It are exactly how families find out what makes a school like Lighthouse Connections Academy different. πŸ’œ

As a tuition-free online charter public school. Lighthouse gives families the flexibility to build a learning schedule around each student's needs β€” a reminder that school choice doesn't always mean a building.

What a great way to connect with families and meet face-to-face!

Kennedy Haworth graduated from Michigan State University at 19 β€” a feat she credits to her charter alma mater, Chatfield School. Today, she's District Director for State Sen. Kevin Daley, running day-to-day operations for Michigan's 26th Senate District. πŸ›οΈ

Chatfield's academic acceleration got her ahead early, and its close-knit community showed her how to build the kind of relationships she now relies on every day in Lansing. She even shares a full-circle moment: walking into a Capitol meeting and instantly recognizing a local leader as the father of an old Chatfield classmate.

This is what happens when a school meets a student at their pace and actually knows their name. Read Kennedy's full story πŸ‘‡

Congratulations to Jennifer Dalal, Frontier International-Warren’s August ! πŸ“šπŸ’œ

Jennifer is a reading specialist described as unselfish, compassionate, relentless, and unshakeable in her belief that every child can read. That belief, held without exception, is what turns facing a statistical challenge into overcoming the odds.

Where should education dollars actually go? We're breaking it down. πŸ’°πŸ“š

Literacy and training. Educators. School leaders. Curriculum. Choices.

These are the things that directly shape whether a student succeeds. And when funding reaches the people and programs closest to kids, the results follow.

Congratulations to Livingston Classical Academy on their Ribbon Cutting Celebration! πŸŽ‰βœ‚οΈ

From the turnout of families, students, staff, community members, and local leaders β€” including State Rep Ann Bolin β€” who showed up to celebrate, it's clear this school has built something special. Milestones like this don't happen without a community that believes in what a school is doing β€” and Livingston Classical Academy has that in spades.

Thank you, Rep. Bolin, for showing up to support this community. Here's to a bright future as this school family continues to grow together! πŸ’™

Whitmore Lake, MI - On Thursday evening the rain held off as Livingston Classical Academy celebrated the opening of a new 'outdoor classroom', a project completed by Eagle Scout Lucas Pelt. A circular set of wood benches sat beneath the shade of tall pine trees in the courtyard as the community, along with State Representative Ann Bollin and State Senator Lana Theis, welcomed commentary from the Greater Brighton Area Chamber and new Head of School, Dean Bowen.

In the courtyard, students painted rocks for a rock garden and met some of their classmates whom they had not seen since June. After the giant ribbon was ceremoniously cut, food was served on the athletic fields as the younger students gravitated towards the playground and the older students spent time playing kickball and volleyball.

Livingston Classical Academy is a Hillsdale College Curriculum K-12 tuition-free public charter that sits just outside the southern border of Livingston County on Main Street in Whitmore Lake. You can find them this Summer at the Dexter Summer Festival on August 7-8th and at the Howell Melon Festival August 15-16th.
