Sometimes struggling doesn’t look like a crisis. Sometimes it looks like pulling away, sleeping differently, losing motivation, responding less, or simply not seeming like yourself.

For foster care alumni, life experiences don’t suddenly disappear when care ends. That’s why paying attention to the people around us matters. 💜

You don’t have to diagnose someone or know exactly what to say. If something feels different, check in. Listen. Be present. A simple conversation can remind someone that they don’t have to carry everything by themselves.

And if you’re the one struggling, reaching out for support is okay too.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month. 💜

Sometimes the people struggling the most are still showing up to work, answering texts, making plans, laughing with friends, and doing everything they can to make it through the day. You may not always be able to see when someone is hurting.

This month is a reminder to check in with the people around you, listen without immediately trying to fix everything, and take someone seriously when they tell you they’re struggling. A conversation won’t solve everything, but knowing someone genuinely cares can matter more than we realize.

And if you’re the person having a hard time right now, you deserve support too. You don’t have to wait until things become unbearable to reach out.

In the U.S., call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline 24/7.

Foster care alumni are all around us, and you may never know someone has experienced foster care unless they choose to share that part of their story.

They’re building careers, raising families, going to school, creating businesses, chasing goals, and navigating everyday life. Foster care may be part of someone’s story, but it doesn’t tell you everything about who they are or who they’re becoming. 💜

There’s no single way to “look” like a foster care alum.

A quick schedule update for our Women’s Connection community 💜

We’re taking a short break for Labor Day weekend, so there will be no calls on August 31 or September 7.

Women’s Connection Calls will resume on September 21! Until then, we hope everyone gets a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy the holiday. 💜

Aging out of foster care doesn’t mean you stop needing people in your corner.

ALL IN is about staying connected beyond the system and beyond a certain stage of life. Whether you’re figuring out your next move, doing well and ready to give back, looking for people who understand parts of your experience, or simply want to stay connected, there’s room for you here.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to be in crisis. And you don’t have to wait until you need something to get involved.

Come as you are. Be involved in the ways that make sense for you. 💜

Youth Thrive 4 Youth brought foster care alumni together in Colorado Springs for two days of learning, honest conversations, connection, and actually having some fun together. 💜

We talked about resilience, relationships, emotional well being, and finding support, but some of the best parts happened outside of the training too. Swimming, hanging out, laughing, talking, and getting to know each other without pressure.

We appreciate every alumni who chose to spend the weekend with us and be part of the experience. Showing up matters, and we’re glad we got to create these memories together.

Thank you to Selfless Love Foundation for partnering with us to make this weekend possible.

For some foster care alumni, there are people they’ve stayed connected to over the years. For others, those relationships ended, weren’t healthy, or simply never existed in the first place.

And that’s something we need to talk about too.

Community after foster care isn’t only about maintaining old connections. It can also mean building new ones as an adult and finding people who actually show up, understand you, and make room for you.

At ALL IN, we want foster care alumni to have opportunities to meet, connect, and build relationships with people who get it.

Because you shouldn’t already need a community to be welcomed into one. 💜

Back to school season can bring up a whole different set of memories when you’ve experienced foster care.

Maybe you went straight to college. Maybe you worked first, chose a trade, took a break, went back years later, or realized school wasn’t your path at all. And sometimes the hardest part wasn’t the classwork. It was trying to figure out housing, money, transportation, paperwork, and who to call when you had no clue what you were doing.

Foster care alumni, what’s ONE thing you had to figure out the hard way that you wish someone had told you sooner? 👇

One of our own is adding another title to her bookshelf. 📚💙

ALL IN alumnI Naomi Hope recently released Make Me Feel Seen, a book centered on reimagining volunteer leadership through connection, care, and belonging.

We love having the opportunity to celebrate and support foster care alumni as they continue building, creating, and sharing their work with the world.

Make Me Feel Seen is available now on Amazon.
