Before specialized mounted schools, modern equipment, and formal certification programs, mounted officers depended heavily on one thing:

Horsemanship.

They had to know their horse, read its reactions, control its movement, and trust the partnership when the environment became unpredictable.

More than a century later, that foundation hasn’t changed.

Technology improves. Equipment evolves. Tactics develop. But there is still no substitute for a mounted officer who can ride, communicate, and work with the horse underneath them.

Your eyes, hands, seat, legs, and body position are constantly communicating with your horse. The clearer the rider becomes, the more confidently the horse can respond.
