We have put LPSS high school summer reading on the Perpetual shelf today at South Regional. We will continue to do this as long as we have them. They change daily so please don't call the Reference Desk to see what's available.

Just a little info on donating books. We have 3 huge bins to put books in. When you leave them on the concrete in boxes this creates a huge problem, especially in all of this rainy weather. We are all volunteers, most of us over 60, some over 70 and even 80. We work on Thursdays, so we are not always available to go to the warehouse and haul in boxes. Thanks to Wesley and the bookmobile staff, 30 boxes were brought in before the rain today. Please keep this in mind when you bring books. We are appreciative of all of your donations - we couldn't have a booksale without them - but if they get wet, it is very difficult for us to get them into the dumpster.

Beginning the first week in June, the Perpetual Sales at Main and South will put Summer Reading books on our shelves. The cost is still $5 for hardback and $3 for paperback and we only have what has been donated so it is not complete. Please do not call the Reference Desk to see if there is a book - these change by the hour. Also, we have lists from Lafayette High, Southside, Acadiana, and Carencro. If you have lists - or a link to - lists from the other public or private high schools please let us know so that we can try to find and make these books available. We are also looking for middle school lists. Hope this helps in your quest for required summer reading!

WE are still planning our sale in July at Main - dates are July 28-30, with times TBD. Don't know whether to call it Christmas in July since we'll be having Christmas craft books, a puzzling sale, since we'll be having lots of puzzles or dog days of summer because it will be HOT! We will have lots and children's books also and will be posting pictures soon.
