Dear Griffin,

Your love for life is woven into so many cherished memories—fishing, sports, bikes, hats, and especially creating. Your gifted mind found joy in designing, drawing, building, and dreaming of becoming an engineer.

You carried a warrior’s spirit alongside a kind and loyal heart. Your love for family, friends, your dogs, Ollie, and your sugar glider remains deeply treasured. So does your incredible ability to connect with everyone you encountered, no matter their age.

And then there was always your beloved and exciting line, “Guess what?" which preceded the beginning of another story, idea, or plan that everyone was eager to hear.

Your life held so much adventure, love, and promise. The memories you leave behind continue to bring meaning and tell the world just how special you will always be.

Today, we remember the incredible young man whose kindness and genuine warmth touched so many lives. You had a heart that made room for everyone, always ready with a hug, a laugh, or a simple act of kindness that made people feel seen and loved.

Someone once wrote, “His absence is loud.” Those words capture the depth of what it means to miss you. Your absence is felt in the quiet moments, in the places you should be, and in the everyday moments that remind your loved ones how deeply you are missed.

Dear Fredrick,

One year has passed since your life ended far too soon, before you had the chance to experience all that life still held for you. Today, we remember the young man you were and the love, laughter, and connection you brought to so many.

Your mom loves you deeper than the sea, and the space your absence has left in her heart is immeasurable. Still, she continues to move forward the way she says—minute by minute—holding tightly to the love you shared and the hope that one day you will be together again in Heaven.

Your friends continue to hold you close, keeping your spirit alive in the memories you created together. Gathering around your mom for home-cooked meals has become a beautiful way to honor the camaraderie you shared and the way you had a gift for bringing everyone together.

Your siblings will never forget you. They hold one another and your mom close as they navigate the ache of missing you, while also finding ways to celebrate the life and love you gave them. Your dad carries your memory with him, too, and you will always have a place in his heart.
