As we proudly open the 50th Southwest Regional Conference, we are filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and sisterly pride.

The Southwest Region has been powerfully shaped by the exemplary service and visionary leadership of Regional Director Crystal Barker and Regional Representative Kamyia Gibbs. Their stewardship of the region is marked by an unwavering pursuit of excellence, a genuine love for every soror in their care, and an abiding commitment to the communities we are called to serve. They have honored the rich legacy of the Southwest Region while boldly evolving how we show up for our members and the world around us. In every sense, they have lived out the motto, "Believe and Love!"

The Dynamic Distinguished ladies of the Lafayette Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc enjoyed the 50th Southwest Regional Conference held in Grapevine, Tx. Sorors attended both in person and virtually. The conference allowed Sorors to reconnect, rejuvenate, and reengage with Sorors near and far. It was a time to reflect on Service, Sisterhood, and Social Action!

Congratulations to our very own Tonya Bolden- Ball for being a presenter at the Social Action Workshop during the conference!

This evening of excellence will honor outstanding men from our chapter service area who inspire, lead, achieve, and serve throughout the community. Through this fundraiser, we aim to continue to promote scholarship and public service, while elevating our communities.

The nomination deadline has been extended to 11 am,Thursday, June 11th.

The Lafayette Alumnae Chapter serves the parishes of Lafayette, Upper St. Martin (excluding the
cities/towns/villages of Cade, Parks and St. Martinville) and Vermillion.

The Membership Services Committee hosted a private Candle Party on Friday, May 29, at 6:00 p.m. at the Sorority House.
We were excited to welcome Soror Cotessa Solomon of the Crowley Alumnae Chapter (owner of Glo Haus in Rayne, La) as our host for the evening. Sorors enjoyed a unique and creative experience, selecting their own custom scents and choosing from a variety of vessel designs to create personalized candles.

The Membership Services Committee provided food, beverages, and amazing door prizes, adding to the fellowship and fun throughout the evening.
The “Just Because” event was a wonderful opportunity for Sorors to relax, connect, and enjoy an evening of sisterhood while creating beautiful custom candles to take home. The evening was filled with laughter, creativity, and meaningful fellowship, making it a memorable experience for all who attended.
