We had a great time in Columbia County this past weekend with our group of future filmmakers from grades 6 to 8! 👏👏👏

Thank you to Hudson Film Festival and MHA of Columbia Greene for collaborating with us on this SWAY program, to all of our awesome and talented instructors, actors, and crew, to BackBar and Spark of Hudson for the fabulous locations - and most of all to our young participants who came inspired and ready to create 🎥✨

Calling all middle schoolers (grade 6-8) who are interested in filmmaking! 🎥🎬

Stockade Works Access Youth is proud to partner with the Hudson Film Festival, and MHA of Columbia Greene (The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene), on a free, engaging, hands-on, locations department focused film and tv workshop!

When: Saturday Aug 1 from 1pm to 5pm
Where: Spark of Hudson

🗺️The workshop will be led by Hudson Valley locations professional Jillian Fisher, who will guide students through the creative and logistical process of location scouting.

✅Working alongside industry professionals, students will be introduced to key behind-the-scenes roles in film and television, including Camera, Sound, Grip and Electric, with a special focus on the art and logistics of location scouting.

We're looking for a Part-Time Classroom Facilitator (Temporary) to support our Stockade Works Access Youth (SWAY) program in schools across the Hudson Valley.

✅Up to 25 hours/week
✅$25/hour
✅Start: Around August 10
✅End: Around January 30

📍Location: In-person throughout the Hudson Valley (Ellenville, Rhinebeck, Kingston, and surrounding areas). Regular travel between school sites and Stockade Works is required.

As the primary classroom facilitator, you'll lead select SWAY lessons, support visiting film and TV professionals, and help students connect classroom learning with real-world creative careers.

Our Make Local Work Benefit is happening tomorrow! Join us on Thursday, July 9 at Arrowood Farms for an evening of authentic, acoustic live Cajun music from Lapin Coquin; craft libations and delicious local bites from Phoenicia Diner, Aloha Tacos, and EatChurch; plus Upstate Jamboree games and fun!

All proceeds support the Stockade Works Scholarship Fund, opening doors for historically underserved populations in the Hudson Valley to access careers in the region’s growing Film & TV industry.

We are so excited to gather with our community and to celebrate the summer! 🌞🍹🎬✨
