The history committee’s associate advisor, Mike Comfort, will be at the memorabilia show to sign copies of his book, “Pilgrims in Khaki” which details the history of the Scout pilgrimage and encampment at Valley Forge. Be sure to attend the show on either August 21st or 22nd!

*Celebrate July 4th at Valley Forge with Scouting History!*

The *Cradle of Liberty Council, Scouting America* is excited to be part of the *50/250 Celebration: Retreat to Valley Forge* at *Valley Forge National Historical Park* on *July 4, 2026*!

This special celebration marks both the *50th anniversary of Valley Forge National Historical Park* and the *250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence*.

Cradle of Liberty Council will be on-site sharing a *Scouting history display*, highlighting the powerful connection between Scouting and Valley Forge — including the historic *Boy Scouts of America Jamborees held at Valley Forge in the 1950s and 1960s*.

Bring the whole family out for a day of history, celebration, and community! The event will include living history demonstrations, music, activities, shuttle service throughout the park, and special family-friendly programming at the National Memorial Arch.
