☀️😎 What a day! Our PALS U Summer Fun Day was packed with laughter, music, food, and plenty of summer fun!

Individuals from both PALS KC and PALS Blue Springs came together to enjoy yard games, karaoke, tie-dye, and time with friends. There were some serious karaoke stars in the crowd and lots of colorful creations at the tie-dye station!

A big shoutout to 2 Guys and a Grill for serving up delicious hamburgers, while our individuals made side dishes to complete the feast.

Most of all, thank you to our amazing staff. Events like this don't happen without the people who show up every day with energy, patience, and a commitment to making sure the individuals we serve have opportunities to learn, connect, and have a great time. We are so grateful for all they do!

Today, we celebrated a very special milestone at the Rainbow School as we honored our 3 graduating students! 🎓🌈

For two of our graduates, this moment was especially meaningful as they have been part of the Rainbow School family since preschool. Watching them grow, learn, and achieve so much over the years has been incredible.

One of the most touching moments of the day was their legacy walk through the school halls — surrounded by cheering staff, classmates, and memories from the place they’ve called home for so many years. 💙

We are so proud of each of our graduates and cannot wait to see all the amazing things ahead for them.

Our students from the Rainbow School had an amazing time yesterday at Yaya’s Alpaca Farm! 🦙☀️

They got to feed and pet the alpacas, learn how alpaca fiber is used, and explore the farm. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and fun throughout the day.

Thank you to Yaya’s Alpaca Farm for giving our students such a wonderful hands-on experience and a day full of great memories! 💙

🚗🥬 Monday Produce Pickup with Paul! 🌮❤️

Every Monday, Paul Macy helps pick up CDD’s weekly produce donation from Kanbe’s Markets.

Each week, Paul assists with transporting and unloading 200–300 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables that help stock the CDD Market for residents and staff. This week’s donation totaled an impressive 215 pounds of produce!

After the produce pickup, Paul enjoyed lunch at a new Mexican food truck in the area. 🌮😋

♻️ Building skills, confidence, and community ♻️

Thanks to Jonathan’s new recycling program in PALS 2 (now expanded to PALS 1 & 3!), individuals are gaining meaningful ways to stay engaged.

Kaitlynn has especially taken to the program—she loves rinsing cans and encouraging others to join.

It’s a great example of how simple activities can create powerful moments of growth and connection. 💙
