United WE

United WE United WE advances all women’s economic and civic leadership to make meaningful change.

Since 1991, United WE has invested wisely in the success of women of all ages. United WE addresses issues affecting the economic well-being of women and their families throughout the region with the goal of eliminating barriers women face in achieving long-term economic self-sufficiency. Economically self-sufficient women will lead the nation’s next chapter of economic growth, and by investing in the success of women, we are investing in a stronger economy.

Summer break often highlights a challenge that exists year-round for millions of families: balancing work and caregiving responsibilities.

From coordinating camps and transportation to adjusting work schedules and finding reliable care, caregivers are managing complex responsibilities that many of our systems were never designed to support.

The reality is that caregiving isn’t just a personal challenge. It’s a workforce issue, an economic issue, and a community issue.

When caregivers have the support they need, families thrive, employers retain talent, and communities grow stronger.

That’s why United WE is committed to advancing solutions that support caregivers, strengthen workplaces, and expand opportunity.

“Investing in women is not a women’s issue, it’s actually a growth strategy.” — Shelley Zalis, Founder, CEO,

At Champions for Change, this message resonated deeply because it reflects exactly what drives United WE’s mission every day.

When women thrive, economies grow, businesses strengthen, communities prosper, and future generations benefit. Advancing women’s economic participation isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s one of the smartest investments we can make in our collective future.

Thank you to for helping lead this important conversation and for reminding us that investing in women is investing in growth for everyone.
