The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is impacting millions of lives across the world… one heart at a time. FCA's mission is "to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church." Since 1954, FCA has encouraged coaches and athletes on the professional, collegiate, high school, junior high, and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ.

Sports and life are filled with uncertainty. Injuries happen. Plans change. Outcomes don’t always go the way we hoped. But even when everything around us feels unstable, God remains our Rock.

Psalm 18 reminds us that the Lord is our strength, refuge and firm foundation. When we build our identity on success, performance or circumstances, we will always feel shaken. But when our trust is rooted in Christ, we can stand firm through every challenge and unknown.

True stability isn’t found in perfect circumstances — it’s found in the unchanging character of God.

“’Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’” –Matthew 11:28-30

The world constantly tells us to do more, work harder and carry everything on our own. But Jesus offers something different: rest.

So many of us are exhausted from striving, trying to prove ourselves or carrying burdens we were never meant to hold alone. In Matthew 11, Jesus invites the weary and burdened to come to Him and find peace for their souls.

You don’t have to carry the weight by yourself. Bring your worries, pressure and exhaustion to Jesus — the One strong enough to carry it all. 💪

How can you respond to Jesus' invitation to come to Him?

Faithfulness may not always be celebrated in today’s sports culture, but it matters deeply to God.

Whether you’ve been given many opportunities or only a few, God calls us to be faithful with what He has entrusted to us. True success is not found in recognition, but in consistently honoring Christ through our character, effort and obedience.

Stay faithful where God has placed you. Day by day, your life can point others to Jesus.

"But if you return to me and carefully observe my commands, even though your exiles
were banished to the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to
the place where I chose to have my name dwell.” -Nehemiah 1:9

Sometimes growth begins when we stop insisting on doing things our own way and start trusting the Coach who sees what we cannot.

Just like a coach helps athletes reach their potential, God guides us with wisdom, purpose and promises we can trust. Even when we fail or lose confidence, He remains faithful and continues working in our lives.

Trust the Coach who knows the bigger picture. His plans are always greater than our own.

“The Lord says: Write down this vision; clearly inscribe it on tablets so one may easily read it.” -Habakkuk 2:2

Preparation matters. Discipline matters. Strategy matters. But eventually every athlete, coach and leader reaches a moment where preparation alone is no longer enough.

That’s where surrender begins. When we stop trying to control every outcome and fully trust Jesus, our preparation becomes purpose driven and our effort becomes worship.

Jesus is more than part of the plan — He is the strategy. Trust Him with the outcome and move forward in faith.

Doing the right thing isn’t always the easiest choice, especially when others around you choose shortcuts, compromise or what seems most advantageous.

As followers of Christ, we are called to pursue goodness, integrity and moral excellence in every situation. True character is revealed when we choose what is right even when nobody else does.

Don’t let culture define your standards. Let your identity in Christ guide the way you compete, lead and live.

How does knowing your identity in Christ help you choose goodness?

“And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the
more as you see the day approaching.” -Hebrews 10:24-25

Friendships can be hard, especially in competitive environments where comparison, pressure and conflict can easily divide a team. But strong teams are built on encouragement, trust and genuine connection.

Hebrews reminds us to “consider one another” and encourage love and good works. A little encouragement, kindness and intentional time together can completely change a team dynamic and strengthen friendships.

Notice people. Encourage your teammates. Build others up. The smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference.

Competition should be built on honesty, integrity and respect.

In sports and in life, it’s easy to get caught up in trash talk, deception or trying to gain an unfair advantage. But true character is revealed in how we compete when nobody is watching.

God calls us to compete with integrity, treat others with respect and honor Him in the way we play.

Compete with purpose. Choose integrity in every moment.

You were made for more.

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God is able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine through His power at work in us. In sports, hard work, discipline and coaching help us grow, but God wants to do even greater things through our lives.

He wants to build character, deepen faith and use us for His purpose beyond the game. Don’t limit what God can do in and through you.

Keep training. Keep trusting. Keep believing in God for bigger things.
