FCA Vision: “To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.”
(1909)

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is impacting millions of lives across the world… one heart at a time. FCA's mission is "to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church." Since 1954, FCA has encouraged coaches and athletes on the professional, collegiate, high school, junior high, and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ.

The hardest part of baseball isn't swinging—it's deciding whether to swing. Pitchers disguise every pitch. Fastballs, curveballs and sliders leave the same arm slot looking identical for a split second. Elite hitters train to recognize release points, read counts and practice restraint until it's the right pitch. ⚾

Now picture a 3-2 count. Pressure's on. You know a strike is coming but not every strike is your pitch. Elite hitters wait, ready to recognize and commit instantly.

That's what biblical "waiting" looks like too. It's focused readiness to respond.

Waiting quiets the noise and keeps you ready. The Holy Spirit trains us through Scripture, aligns us through prayer and sharpens us through fellowship—daily reps that prepare you for the moment pressure hits.

When pressure comes, you don't chase what looks right or freeze in uncertainty. You recognize His voice and step into His path. Waiting on God doesn't delay decisions—it prepares you to make them.

Coaches call plays. Parents react. Teammates yell. Friends weigh in. Social media never stops. Every day you're surrounded by voices telling you who to be and what to do.

Paul faced the same pressure. His answer:

"For am I now trying to persuade people, or God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." —Galatians 1:10

Paul didn't ignore the voices around him—he filtered them. Not every loud voice is the right voice. God places people in your life with real authority (coaches, parents, teachers) but their authority only holds when it lines up with His truth.

So when the voices compete, ask:
🔹 Who is speaking?
🔹 What authority do they have?
🔹 Does it align with God's Word?

The Holy Spirit turns pressure into direction. Maturity isn't just doing what you're told—it's discerning what's right when everyone's talking at once.

Trials don’t have to destroy our faith. They can refine it.

Kurt Warner’s journey to the NFL was filled with rejection, setbacks and uncertainty. Yet he kept preparing and trusting through the difficult seasons. When his opportunity came, he was ready.

Our faith works the same way. God can use pressure to build endurance, strengthen our character and deepen our trust in Him.

The hard season may not be easy, but God can use it to prepare us for what’s ahead. 🙌

“Consider it a great joy... because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance... so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”

“Because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” — James 1:3-4

When Michael Phelps’ goggles filled with water during the 2008 Olympic 200-meter butterfly final, he couldn’t see the wall or the lane lines. But instead of panicking, he relied on what he had practiced. His coach had trained him to swim with clouded goggles and count his strokes.

The pressure didn’t create his preparation. It revealed it.

Our faith works the same way. When pressure comes through criticism, mistakes, unexpected roles or difficult seasons, it reveals what has been forming in us.

Daily time in Scripture, prayer and obedience prepares us to respond with patience, kindness and confidence in who we are in Christ.

Train now for the moments when your “goggles fill with water.” Let the pressure reveal a faith that has been built through daily trust in Jesus. 🏊

Summer, we love you…but fall sports are calling. 🍂🏈🏐⚽️🏃‍♀️

As a new season begins, let’s play with purpose and compete for something greater.

Who else is ready for fall sports?

Spiritual maturity is never a solo workout. 💪

Just like teammates train side by side, encouraging each other through fatigue and frustration, we grow in our faith through community.

God uses the people around us to build trust, strengthen humility, develop patience and increase endurance. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s becoming more mature and more equipped to live for Christ.

Keep training. Keep growing. And don’t do it alone. 🙏

📖 Workout Scripture:
• Hebrews 5:11-14
• James 1:2-4
• Proverbs 27:17

Who has helped strengthen your faith along the way?

Pressure has a way of revealing what’s happening beneath the surface.

Before Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier, Branch Rickey warned him about the pressure, insults and hatred he would face. Rickey asked if Robinson had the courage not to fight back.

Robinson understood that his response would be about more than baseball. It would reveal his character and the motives behind his actions.

Our moments of pressure can do the same. Frustration, criticism, conflict and disappointment can reveal what’s really in our hearts. Pride can make us retaliate. Frustration can make us complain. Ego can make us resist correction.

That’s why David prayed for God to examine his heart. God doesn’t just care about what we do. He cares about why we do it.

Pressure reveals our motives, but Christ can reshape them. Through Scripture, prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit, we can learn to respond with restraint, purpose and integrity. 🙏

The hardest moments can feel like setbacks, but God can use them as training grounds for our faith.

Just like an athlete builds endurance through repetition and conditioning, God uses challenges to strengthen our endurance, shape our character and deepen our hope in Him.

The pressure you’re facing isn’t wasted. God can use it to prepare you for what’s ahead and teach you to stand firm when life gets difficult.

What challenge is God using to strengthen your faith right now? 💪

New here? Welcome! 👋

If you've been wondering what FCA is all about, here's a quick introduction.

FCA exists to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Our mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

We do that by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ—and to lead others to do the same.

We're glad you're here. ❤️

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” –Matthew 5:16

Every athlete has an opportunity to make an impact beyond the scoreboard. The way you compete, treat others and carry yourself can point people toward something greater.

Jesus calls His followers to be the light of the world. That light isn’t meant to be hidden — it’s meant to shine.

When we live for Christ, others should be able to see a difference in the way we compete, lead and love.

Don’t let the pressure, culture or environment around you dim your light. Let it shine! 💡🙌
