Preserving history and sharing history is a community effort, and we need your help!

With the hard work of Dr. Mary Devin and Dr. Ferrell Miller, the Geary County Historical Society is working on a printed history of local schools from 1980-2004, and we need help finding photos of faculty and staff from this time period. If you have photos from this time period to share please reach out to [email protected] (digital copies are fine!)

Donation spotlight!

Today we received a very special donation-- 11 scrapbooks from JC Junior High from the 1980s and albums filled with photos of every class of Grandview Plaza Elementary Students dating back to (at least) the 90s. We know that the loss of Grandview Elementary School is hitting the community hard, and we are honored to be able to care for and preserve this history for future generations.

Please give us a little time to get everything cataloged, but then these photo albums will be available for previous Grandview Plaza students to take a look at.

Starcke House is in full bloom thanks to the green thumb and hard work from GCHS board member Cindy Quinlan. We are so grateful for her dedication in keeping this historic home beautiful while also working tirelessly behind the scenes of the St. Joseph's Historic Church restoration project.

Thank you Cindy!
