Just as we dress to impress to go to Sunday church or a Saturday night football game, 100 or so years ago, people also put on their best to attend events—even the kind you might not expect. As you can see in this photo of the Town Creek Flood of 1921, people dressed in their finest attire to view the damage.

🌸 What a season it’s been! 🌸
As Downtown Jackson Partners’ Downtown in Bloom spring series has come to a close, we’re reflecting on the incredible memories we made together in the heart of downtown Jackson. 💐✨

This spring, we:
🐪 Celebrated Hump Day with everyone’s favorite camel, Frank, and the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra
🍽️ Dined under the stars at the award-winning Smith Park Supper Club with celebrity chefs
🧘 Practiced yoga with baby goats and puppies
🌮 Ate our way around the world with amazing local food trucks and cuisines
🍋 Cooled off with organic juices, Italian ices and fresh lemonade
🚲 Biked our way through downtown streets
🌻 Shopped for fresh produce and beautiful blooms at our Farmers’ Markets while enjoying live music from Central MS Blues Society, Inc. musicians
🎶 Let the spirit move us at THE MISSISSIPPI MASS CHOIR concert and gospel brunch

Most importantly, we watched hundreds of you come together to enjoy community, culture, food, music and fun in downtown Jackson. ❤️
