A huge THANK YOU to Sunstone Hotel Investors! đź’›

Thanks to a member of our board, the Sunstone team came together to fulfill our entire back-to-school wish list for the house AND gift brand-new mattresses to our scholars. 🎒🛏️

From fresh school supplies to a good night’s sleep, these gifts help our scholars walk into the new school year rested, prepared, and ready to shine.

Thank you to everyone at Sunstone who contributed. Our scholars feel the love! 🔥

✨ Meet Alvaro! ✨
Shoutout to our scholar Alvaro! 🌟 Now a sophomore and he’s making his mark as a staff reporter for The Scarlet Scroll, the school’s student newspaper. From covering school news to writing about the Pope, Alvaro is finding his voice and thriving! 📰

When asked what Hope Ignites means to him, Alvaro shared:

“Hope Ignites gives me the support I needed to know I can make it to a good college and have a good career.”

This is what it’s all about. Our scholars are showing up, discovering their passions, and making the most of every opportunity. We’re so proud of Alvaro and grateful for a community that believes in our scholars and cheers them on every step of the way. ❤️

Meet Samantha

This post we’re spotlighting Samantha — a 10th grader who’s become such a light in the house. She’s brought the girls together in the sweetest sisterhood, always down for fun (hello, impromptu lash and nail sessions ✨) while also being seriously sharp — between Academic Decathlon, theater, and her medical pathway coursework, she’s got a lot going on and handles it all with heart.

Samantha’s favorite subject is math, because it’s taught her to solve problems both in and outside the classroom. Her dream school is Stanford, drawn to its gorgeous campus and rigorous pre-med program.

In her own words: “When I grow up, I want to become a pediatric oncologist because the human body has always amazed me with its complexity and how much it can endure.”

We’re so proud to have Samantha as part of the Hope Ignites family. Keep shining, Samantha! 🌟
