💚 * National Council Session Debrief with our GSOC Delegates * 💚

Girl Scouts of Orange County is thrilled to invite alum to a special debrief event with the four GSOC delegates who traveled to Washington, DC, this July to represent our council.

Girl Scouts of Orange County delegates traveled to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to represent GSOC at the 58th National Council Session, the official business meeting of the Girl Scout Movement.

NCS brings together girl and adult delegates from every council across the country, as well as USA Girl Scouts Overseas, to discuss, debate, and vote on issues shaping the future of Girl Scouting and to elect national leaders for the upcoming triennium, with girl delegates voting alongside adult delegates and having a direct voice in the process.

Our delegates will share their firsthand experience of participating in this democratic process, the proposals and issues debated on the national stage, and what it meant to represent our council's voice among thousands of Girl Scouts nationwide.

This is a great opportunity for our alum community to reconnect, hear inspiring stories from today's Girl Scouts, and see how the values that shaped your own Girl Scout journey continue to drive change nationwide!

While this gathering is especially for our young alum, alum of every generation are welcome to attend and hear from our delegates.

Ever wanted to trade your bed for a sleeping bag under the stars? Girl Scouts of Orange County is hosting Troop Tent Camping Training, your ticket to becoming the outdoor-loving volunteer your troop needs.

By the end of the training, you'll be ready to confidently sleep outdoors in tents or open shelters, know the difference between public and private campsites, and lead your troop on real outdoor adventures.

Just a heads up, you'll need to complete a few prerequisite courses in the "622 Outdoor Training & Resources" learning path on gsLearn before attending.

Mandated Reporter Training Reminder
A volunteer’s eligibility depends on compliance with Mandated Reporter requirements.

Every two years, volunteers who work with Girl Scouts 16 hours a month or 32 hours a year must complete Mandated Reporter training OR upload a certificate of completion.

Important: You only need to complete one option—either take the course or upload your certificate.
