What you wear shouldn’t stand between you and opportunity.

On National Clothing Insecurity Awareness Day, we’re raising awareness about clothing insecurity and the barriers it can create for job seekers. Not having appropriate clothing can mean showing up to an interview without professional attire, starting a new job without work-ready clothing, or having to choose between clothing and other essential expenses.

At Working Wardrobes, we help job seekers overcome these barriers through personalized wardrobing and workforce readiness services, helping people move toward meaningful employment with dignity.

Working Wardrobes welcomed 36 attendees representing 13 partner organizations across Orange County to our Career Success Center for Cafecito with Working Wardrobes, an afternoon centered on connection, conversation, and collaboration.

Together, we talked about who we serve, the unique strengths each organization brings to the table, the barriers that can make partnership difficult, and what stronger collaboration could look like across our community.

From easier referral pathways and shared events to greater access to employment, education, training, and supportive services, one thing was clear: we can accomplish more for the people we serve when we work together.

Thank you to every partner who joined us and helped shape the conversation.

Big news: Working Wardrobes is moving!

Later this year, our Career Success Center and Donation Center will come together under one roof at a new location in Santa Ana, creating one centralized home for our mission, our team, and the community we serve.

This is more than a move. By bringing our services, donations, volunteers, partners, and team into one shared space, we’ll be able to work more collaboratively, operate more efficiently, and create an even stronger connection between the generosity of our community and the people we serve.

Two locations are becoming one. Our mission remains the same, and the possibilities for our impact are growing.

And we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Save the date for Giving Tuesday, December 1, when we’ll bring our community together at our new home for a special celebration and clothing drive.
