The Percussive Arts Society is the world's largest percussion organization and is considered the central source for information and networking for percussionists and drummers of all ages. Established in 1961 as a non-profit, music service organization, our mission is to inspire, educate, and support percussionists and drummers throughout the world. PAS hosts the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) annually, featuring the top names in drumming and percussion. PAS is also home to the Rhythm! Discovery Center - the World's Foremost Drum & Percussion Museum. Founded by PAS in 2009, Rhythm! features unique, interactive exhibits highlighting a rich collection of historic artifacts and hands-on percussion instruments.

Learn everything you need to know when picking shakers for your band students and young percussionists in today’s video from the PAS Classroom with Andy Kolar.

PAS Classroom is a video series focused on quick and valuable tips and tricks for percussionists, drummers, music students, and (in particular) music educators. Learn techniques and strategies you can take back to your percussion classroom or performance in under three minutes. PAS Classroom is created and produced by the Education Committee of the Percussive Arts Society with contributions from other PAS committees.

Andy Kolar is the Associate Director of Bands and Percussion Professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. He is a former Connecticut Chapter President, is on the Education Committee of PAS, and is an active member of NAfME, CMEA, PAS, and USARD.

We have more PASIC artists to announce! Two special drumset sessions have been added to the schedule:

Greyson Nekrutman is coming to PASIC with a clinic called “Technique Meets Technology: Versatility in the Modern Age.” From touring with Sepultura to performing “Whiplash In Concert” to building an audience of two million followers, we assume you know him.

Back to BackBeat is a special partnership session between Giulliana Merello and Helen De La Rosa, who are bringing their performance to the PASIC stage. The duo features a unique staging setup where Merello and De La Rosa perform literally back-to-back. This physical layout demands profound listening, forcing each drummer to focus entirely on the other’s sonic nuances, dynamics, and timekeeping without relying on eye contact.
