The Independence Police Foundation was created by community stakeholders for the exclusive purpose of supporting the highly successful Independence Police Department. The Independence Police Foundation solicits private donations and grant funding to support projects, programs, equipment and other department needs helping the Independence Police Department to achieve its mission to protect life, li

berty and property within the City of Independence, MO. The purpose of the Independence Police Foundation is:

>> To assist the Independence Police Department in reducing crime and disorder through policing best practices, technology, and equipment.

>> To work with the Independence Police Department to ensure that every civilian and sworn member of the department has access to the best training to perform at the highest levels of professional standards.

>> To assist employees and immediate family members of the Independence Police Department with economic hardships due to death, disability, critical illness or other catastrophic life event.

>> To build a bridge between the police department and the Independence community to work together in building a safe city. Our City of Independence, Missouri police officers and police employees are dedicated to improving the quality of life to those who live, work and play in the City of Independence, as well as the surrounding communities.

What a fun event!

Yesterday, officers with the IPD Drone Team were invited to School Day at the K to demonstrate to students how our police drones work, while Science City at Union Station explained the science behind what makes them fly. Thank you Kansas City Royals for having us out!

We are still smiling about last weekend's Bourbon & Blue! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the IPD (and great Derby outfits!) Dollars raised will go toward launching a Police Athletic League & portable license plate readers. Stay tuned for more ways to show your support!
