berty and property within the City of Independence, MO. The purpose of the Independence Police Foundation is:

>> To assist the Independence Police Department in reducing crime and disorder through policing best practices, technology, and equipment.

>> To work with the Independence Police Department to ensure that every civilian and sworn member of the department has access to the best training to perform at the highest levels of professional standards.

>> To assist employees and immediate family members of the Independence Police Department with economic hardships due to death, disability, critical illness or other catastrophic life event.

>> To build a bridge between the police department and the Independence community to work together in building a safe city. Our City of Independence, Missouri police officers and police employees are dedicated to improving the quality of life to those who live, work and play in the City of Independence, as well as the surrounding communities.

Important information about the curfew during Santa Cali Gon Days Festival. Thank you to all our city leaders for working together to keep our community safe! See details 👇👇👇

We would like to thank the Independence City Council for approving the special curfew ordinance for SantaCaliGon Days. The curfew will be in effect from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. beginning Thursday, September 3, and continuing through noon on Labor Day. During these hours, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while attending the festival.

This measure is intended to help ensure a safe, family-friendly environment for everyone who attends SantaCaliGon Days. The curfew is not meant to discourage young people from enjoying the festival; rather, it is designed to encourage families to experience the event together while helping organizers and public safety personnel maintain a secure atmosphere for all guests.

We appreciate the City Council's support and commitment to making SantaCaliGon Days a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming event for our community and visitors alike.

We are looking to honor excellence in public service.

Nominations are open for the Susan Paxton Block Distinguished Public Service Award, which honors exceptional service by a City employee, volunteer, or elected official.

The award winner will receive $1,000, a commemorative medallion, and a lapel pin through the memorial fund established by Susan Paxton Block's family.
