Since 1777, the American flag has represented unity, perseverance, freedom, and the belief that people from different backgrounds can come together to build a stronger nation.

The flag reminds us that we are stronger when we work together for the common good. It symbolizes hope, opportunity, and the promise that every person deserves the chance to thrive.

At Habitat for Humanity, the flag's message of unity is reflected in volunteers, donors, community partners, and future homeowners who work side-by-side to build safe, affordable homes.

This Flag Day, we're reminded that the American dream is strongest when everyone has a place to call home.

❤️🤍💙 Happy Flag Day from Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity. Together, we're building homes, communities, and hope.

Today is World Environment Day! 🌎 Let's celebrating one of the many ways Habitat for Humanity cares for our planet: through its ReStore.

Every donation, purchase, and volunteer hour at ReStore helps keep usable furniture, appliances, building materials, and household goods out of local landfills and gives them a second life.

Since 2023, our three Truman Habitat ReStores have diverted over 7,100,000 pounds of reusable materials from local landfills.

Here is how it works: donate what you no longer need, shop for quality items at affordable prices, and help fund Habitat's mission to build homes, community and hope.

When you support ReStore, you're helping families, strengthening communities, and protecting the environment—all at the same time.

Together, we can all recycle home goods so everyone has a decent place to live and a healthier planet to call home. 🌎🏡

🏡 Happy Summertime! June is National Homeownership Month!

For many families, owning a home is more than a dream — it's the foundation for a brighter future. A safe, affordable home creates stability, builds financial strength, and provides a place where memories are made and communities grow stronger.

At Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve homeownership. That's why we work alongside families to make homeownership more accessible by educating others, removing barriers, creating affordable mortgage solutions, and helping homeowners build equity and long-term financial security.

Right here in Eastern Jackson County, Truman Habitat is helping make that dream a reality. We currently have two homes under construction, with two more set to begin before the end of the year.

Whether you're hoping to become a homeowner, looking for a meaningful way to give back, or simply want to support affordable housing in our community, there's a place for you in this work.

💙 Volunteer your time.

Since the program's initiation in March 2023, Truman Habitat has celebrated with 113 graduates. Since then, at least 15 graduates have gone on to purchase a home!

And another 6 graduates are in the application process for a homeownership opportunity with Truman Habitat.

Next round of Master Homeowner Program classes will kick off Sept 3, 2026. Together, we build successful homeowners. Wealth building begins with a HOME!

BIG NEWS: Congressmen Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri's Fifth District (D) initiated a bipartisan housing bill to help ease the country's affordable home crisis. And, guess who was invited to Washington D.C. to provide input to this bill in 2025? Truman Habitat's Construction Director, Paul Raddant!

Yesterday, the updated bill passed overwhelmingly (396-13) by the House of Representatives. It now moves to the Senate to gain agreement on the updated bill. If passed, it will go to the President for his final signature moving the legislation into law. 🤞🏼

GOALS:
1. Increase supply of affordable housing by including deregulatory steps to encourage more housing construction. 🏠
2. Limiting some investor competition by banning corporate landlords who own more than 350 homes from buying additional single family homes.

Please reach out to your elected officials encouraging them to vote FOR this bill! Way to go Paul! MORE AS IT HAPPENS. THIS IS PROGRESS! 🥳
