After saying goodbye to seven guests who headed back to the United States after the Australia church history tour needed, the remaining guests turned their sights to New Zealand. Today was our first full day in New Zealand where we enjoyed a driving tour of Auckland with stops at the Mission Bay Beach, Michael Joseph Savage Memorial (former prime minister), and the Auckland War Memorial Museum. It was a great start to our time here in beautiful New Zealand.

Our last full day together on the main tour was packed with educational experiences. We journeyed up to Kuranda and encountered a beautiful butterfly garden in the morning. We then travelled to the Rainforestation National Park to visit a wildlife park followed by a unique Pamagirri Aboriginal experience. In the afternoon we explored the rainforest while riding along in an army duck boat. Our rain forest experience continued as we rode the Skyrail, a cableway gondola that soared high above the rainforest. Our blessed day ended with a deeply meaningful devotion followed by a few tearful goodbyes as we wished our friends returning home safe travels. It was a deeply enriching and educational day. We are saddened that this is our last day in Australia, but incredibly grateful for the memories made and the congregations that shared their unique histories with us along the journey. Many thanks to our friends in the Community of Christ Australia Mission Center for your warm hospitality and for sharing your stories with us!

It was another incredible day in Australia! Today our adventurous group spent several hours at the Great Barrier Reef. Guests experienced the Sacredness of Creation in a wide variety of ways: snorkeling, scuba diving, riding in a glass bottom boat, and soaring high above the reef in a helicopter. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that gave us all a greater appreciation for God’s wondrous creatures great and small.

Yesterday our Australia journey included a stopover in Brisbane where we enjoyed a city highlights tour featuring views of the winding river and downtown skyscrapers. Today we departed for Cairns and enjoyed the aerial views of the water and coastline. Australia is truly a beautiful country/continent!

The roar of the ocean at the Tiona reunion grounds (a contrast from the gentle sounds of Lake Wallis on the other side of the grounds). Such a beautiful place to share in worship and fellowship.
