For many of the immigrant and refugee children attending, it will be a powerful opportunity to hear spiritual truth for the very first time.

Ministry like this only happens because of faithful church partners like you. Because of your generosity, we can walk alongside our immigrant and refugee neighbors to plant seeds of faith that have an eternal impact.

A couple of years ago, at story time, our kids did something brave — they shared.

Fears. Pains. Things they don't usually say out loud. And as we sat together, we talked about how God doesn't wait until our lives are put together to show up. He steps right into the broken moments, and from there, He creates something beautiful.

These kids are asking the big questions. Please pray for them and for us as we head into English Camp next week.

We need 15 volunteers for English Camp Celebration! 💚

One evening. A room full of proud kids and families. Be a part of it.

Every year, we close out English Camp by celebrating the kids and everything they've worked toward. This event is a chance for camp volunteers to step back, be present, and build real relationships with the children and their families, but we need more hands to make the event run smoothly.

Here's where we need you:
Set-up & Clean-up — All hands on deck before and after the celebration
Traffic & Parking Assistants — Help families arrive and find their way inside
Ushers — Guide kids from classrooms to the event room and help them get seated
Outside Activity Coordinator— keep the outside activities fun, organized, and on track

We want to give a big thank you to the Ladies for Literacy Guild - Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation for coming out to PLI and reading stories to our children this summer.

Their goal of fostering a love of reading through the power of literacy pairs beautifully with PLI’s purpose of educating and equipping immigrants and refugees. When organizations come alongside our families like this, it reminds us we do our best work together.

As we gear up for English Camp 2026, this memory resurfaced. 💚

During story time, the kids went around naming everything they could think of, asking, "Did God make that, too?"

Then all at once: "God made the Earth! AND the sun! AND everything!"

One small voice: "Even kids?"
"Yes, friend. Even you."

Afterward, the questions just kept coming —
"Is God real?"
"Why can't I hear Him?"
"Will God come to see us if we make bad choices?"

One child brought up something his mom had told him, and we got to talk about who Jesus is, what He did, and why He matters. The room went quiet.

These kids are asking the big questions. Please pray for them — and for us as we head into camp later this month. 🙏
