Volunteer Houston connects individuals, groups and companies with nonprofit agencies to transform our community through volunteerism. By offering a web-based tool for nonprofits, schools, government offices and volunteers to autonomously post and respond to volunteer opportunities, Volunteer Houston serves the greater Houston area and Gulf Coast region of Texas. Volunteer Houston was founded in 1974 and is the Points of Light affiliate in Houston and a program of IM Houston.

FIFA is coming to Houston, and volunteers can be part of the momentum. 🌎⚽

Volunteer Houston is spotlighting a community clean-up opportunity in East Downtown ahead of the FIFA Fan Festival.

On Saturday, May 30, volunteers will help prepare EaDo by supporting cleanup, light beautification, and high-traffic area preparation before Houston welcomes visitors from around the world.

This is more than a clean-up. It is a chance to support our city, represent Houston with pride, and be part of the energy building around one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

Thank you, McGovern Medical School and the UTHealth Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, for hosting a pet food drive benefiting IM Houston’s Animeals program and for packing over 250 pounds during National Volunteer Week.

Founded more than a decade ago, Animeals was created to ensure that older adults would never have to choose between feeding themselves or caring for their pets, or face the difficult decision of giving them up. Today, the program provides supplemental free pet food to nearly 1,000 dogs and cats belonging to homebound seniors.

This partnership reflects the power of compassion, collaboration, and community-centered care. Thank you for supporting our seniors and preserving the vital bond they share with their pets.
