Our most sincere condolences go out to the family.

Houston has lost a true broadcasting legend. José Griñán, the beloved former FOX 26 anchor, has passed away. For over 30 years, José was a trusted voice in our homes, guiding us through major events, like countless hurricanes with warmth, and professionalism.

Beyond the newsroom, José’s impact was profound. He dedicated time to organizations like the National Kidney Foundation, Special Olympics, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and served on boards including the Dive Pirate Foundation and Keep Houston Beautiful.


Our deepest condolences to his wife, Kathy, and their two daughters. José’s legacy will continue to shine brightly in the stories he told, the lives he touched, and the city he loved.

Rest in peace, José.

Our Annual Celebration is in 10 Days!

It's our biggest event of the year, and it is where you can make the biggest impact.

WPG’s Summer Social helps fund our mission to provide networking and professional development opportunities for women in public and government service roles, award academic scholarships to deserving students, and offer grants to organizations that support women and children.

It will be held at the Louise and W.T. Moran building, home of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Houston. The evening includes the presentation of our spring scholarship and community grant winners, as well as the installation of WPG's officers for the 2025-2026 term. We'll also pay special tribute to our past presidents and life members who've contributed to our organization's success over the past 43 years.

Enjoy mixing and mingling along with cocktails and dinner as you enjoy an evening rooftop view of Houston's downtown skyline.
