Join Violet Moon (they/them) on Saturday for an exploration of connection to body through writing prompts, guided visualizations, intentional breathing, and energy movement— this class will invite any participant to safely explore the avoided Self.

Violet Moon began performing at age 10 in concerts, festivals, and music videos across Los Angeles and Houston. At 18, they launched their professional career as an apprentice with Revolve Dance Company and received invitational training at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Violet later secured a guest artist contract with ARCOS Dance Company and became a founding member and soloist with LEON Contemporary Dance Company.

While earning their Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Violet debuted original choreographic works in Houston and was contracted for various performance projects throughout the city, earning the City of Houston’s “Let Creativity Happen” grant. They completed a summer residency at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels and trained as a selected professional at le Centre National de la Danse (CND) in Paris.

Currently, Violet continues to create and premiere original works while offering wellness workshops across Houston that focus on consent practices, trauma-informed somatic movement, and expressive arts therapy. They actively engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations and study community-healing dance practices, exploring how cultures preserve their histories through storytelling and communal experiences.

Mat Pilates with Ren
Loren Holmes , a dancer and certified Pilates instructor, will lead a 50-minute mat Pilates session. Pilates is a low-impact workout focusing on core strength, flexibility, and body awareness. This session will include a warm-up, core-strengthening exercises, and a cool-down. Accessible for all fitness levels, it’s a great way to build strength, improve posture, and enhance mental focus.

To Be Scared is to Be Brave: Connecting to the Body through Change with Violet Moon This session, led by Violet Moon, explores the theme of change through guided visualizations, writing prompts, intentional breathing, and energy movement. Autumn is often seen as a time of transition and ancestral connection. This class will provide a safe space for participants to explore emotions that arise during times of change, focusing on self-awareness and compassion. Violet’s approach ensures a supportive environment that respects individual boundaries and histories.
