Getting ready to make a difference! 💙🎒

Our Backpack Stuffing & Celebration Party with The Children's Assessment Center - Houston-Harris County brought our community together to prepare backpacks filled with supplies for children in need. Every backpack represents more than school supplies—it’s a reminder to a child that their community cares about them and wants to see them succeed. ✏️📚

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and helped make this event possible. Together, we’re helping local children start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and celebrated! 💛

At Spindletop, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. Through our partnership with Nurture, we’re supporting youth facing illness or disability and helping create opportunities for them to grow, connect, and live healthy, capable lives.

Hear from Lia Vallone, Executive Director of Spindletop Community Impact Partners, and Marcela Rodriguez, Clinician at Family Houston, as they share more about the impact of this work and why supporting organizations like Nurture matters to our community.

A September classic made for sharing. 🥒

This month’s recipe is Dill Dip, a simple, crowd-pleasing favorite served in a pumpernickel bread bowl with fresh vegetables and bite-sized bread cubes. Made with sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, parsley, Beau Monde seasoning, and onion flakes, it’s the perfect make-ahead appetizer for gatherings, game days, or easy entertaining.

Ingredients
• 1 pint sour cream
• 1 pint mayonnaise
• 2 tablespoons dill w**d
• 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
• 2 tablespoons Spice Island Beau Monde seasoning
• 2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
• 1 large loaf of round pumpernickel bread, unsliced
• Assorted fresh vegetables

Combine sour cream and mayonnaise. Add dill w**d, parsley flakes, Beau Monde seasoning, and onion flakes. Chill in the refrigerator overnight. Before serving, cut a hole in the center of the loaf to create a bread bowl, then pour in the dip. Cut the removed bread into bite-sized cubes and arrange with fresh vegetables around the loaf.

Through Spindletop Connections, ConocoPhillips employees came together in partnership with Communities In Schools of Houston for a meaningful day of service. ❤️

Volunteers assembled 1,000 hygiene kits for students, including essential personal care items and encouraging handwritten notes. The kits will be distributed to students at schools primarily within Spring Branch ISD.

We are grateful to ConocoPhillips for helping provide care, confidence, and support to students across our community!
