als.Living Hope is a community based non-profit organization serving people with spinal cord injuries as well as with other mobility related disabilities so that they may lead full and productive lives. Suffering a catastrophic spinal cord injury has a brutal impact on a person’s life. If this person is an immigrant or a low-wage worker in the United States, then he or she is in an extremely vulnerable situation. During our existence as an organization we have been able to help each other first to survive the depression that comes after the accident, then to survive the problems that come with not having resources to buy medical supplies and equipment. We have learned to improve our quality of life through hope and solidarity, sharing what we have and organizing to get what we need.

Wellness Without Barriers: Building Community Together 🤝

At Living Hope Wheelchair Association, we recently held our monthly community meeting, and this time, we focused on Wellness Without Barriers.

It was a meaningful opportunity for everyone who attended to share their thoughts, experiences, and perspectives while also listening to others. Because at the end of the day, we are a community, a second family where every voice matters.

Our community meetings are spaces for education, learning, connection, and open conversation. They give us the opportunity to learn from one another, share experiences, and continue building a stronger and more supportive community.

💙 Would you like to be part of our community?

Together, we learn. Together, we connect. Together, we build a stronger community.

LHWA Strengthens Community Partnerships at Executive Leadership Networking Meeting

LHWA participated in the Executive Leadership Networking Meeting, organized by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, bringing together leaders from diverse organizations to share experiences, perspectives, and opportunities for collaboration.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about the missions and work of participating organizations, while building relationships and identifying ways to collaborate for the benefit of our community.

At LHWA, we value these opportunities for dialogue and partnership. They allow us to share our mission, expand our network, and work alongside other leaders and organizations committed to making a positive impact in our community.

We are grateful to the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for organizing this meaningful gathering and for creating spaces that foster collaboration, connection, and community engagement.

LHWA looks forward to continuing to strengthen these partnerships and sharing new opportunities for collaboration and community impact in the future.
