Upon graduation, each veteran is gifted a new guitar!

Putting the healing power of music into the hands of our heroes, G4V Houston offers free acoustic, electric or bass guitar lessons to veterans in Houston and surrounding counties.

Congratulations to G4V Houston Operation Bass Camp Graduate & Army Veteran Tony Southall!

We are very excited about our first Operation Bass Camp graduating class!

Alongside his volunteer instructor and fellow veteran Johnnie Lassen, Tony put in the work during and between his lessons and earned that beautiful Fender guitar! Welcome to Jam Fam!

G4V’s new Operation Bass Camp powered by the Gary Sinise Foundation has given our veterans a new path for their guitar journey! We are so excited to have our first Bass Camp graduates and looking forward to many more to come!

And a special thank you to our hardworking instructor Johnny, VFW Post 9182 & Auxiliary - Katy, Texas for hosting so many of our veterans and the StellaNova Foundation for making our G4V Houston chapter a reality!

Congratulations to G4V Houston Graduate & Army Veteran Adrian McManus!

Adrian progressed quite quickly during his lessons and showed great resilience sticking with his program even when life got busy… And sticking with it is what it’s all about!

Congratulations to G4V Houston Graduate and Army Veteran James Bailey!

James made great progress during his program and is looking forward to playing for his family and sharing his love of guitar with his veteran community at the Southwest Vet Center… we know his enthusiasm will be contagious! Thank you James for letting us be a part of your veteran journey!

Congratulations to G4V Graduate & National Guard Veteran Glenn Commons!

Glenn is quite the natural progressing rapidly during his 10 weeks. Together with his cohort and volunteer instructor Mark Hench they even put a poem of Glenn’s to music that they composed together as a class!

Glen would like to share: “The course opened my eyes to some potential activities for me, which as an unemployed retiree is very important.”

Happy Mother’s Day and Congratulations to our 1st G4V Houston Operation Bass Camp Graduate & Army Veteran Courtney Jean-Marie who completed her program while expecting a little one and absolutely flourished!

Courtney would like to share: “I truly appreciate Johnny for volunteering his time to teach bass guitar his patience, passion, and willingness to give back made a meaningful impact. Programs like Guitar 4 Vets are incredible, providing veterans with not only a creative outlet but also a sense of connection and healing. It’s an amazing initiative that truly makes a difference.”

Courtney’s volunteer instructor fellow veteran Johnnie Lassen said she made remarkable progress and is a true natural!

Congrats to you again (and AGAIN) and thank you for letting us a part of your veteran journey! And, of course, Happy Mother’s Day from your G4V Jam Fam!

Kiera put so much into her lessons and practicing in between! We are so proud of all she accomplished alongside his volunteer instructor, fellow veteran and G4V Graduate Lumadrow Gabriel!

It was a fun poetic coincidence to gift these Breedlove Guitars at a VFW post whose namesake is Floyd Breedlove…. I wonder if we could find a family tree connection!
