Bunnell Street Arts Center is a not-for-profit organization that serves artists and audiences of all ages with opportunities to explore, present and create new work. Bunnell presents monthly visual art exhibitions, contemporary Alaskan artwork for sale, lectures and readings, dance, music, theater and performance art, film screenings and dialogues with artists. Also offering over fifty educational activities per year, Bunnell's outreach programs include artist's talks, workshops for youth and adults, and Artists in Schools programs for over Kenai Peninsula K-12 youth.

Applications for Bunnell Street Arts Center’s Artist in Residence Program close this Thursday, October 15.⁠
⁠
Our Alaska AIR program seeks international, US, and Alaska artists looking to create new work and strengthen the social, physical, and economic fabric of Homer through the arts. Residencies are generally one month and will be scheduled for fall, winter, and spring of 2027 and 2028.⁠

We welcome proposals across all disciplines—visual, literary, performing arts, social & civic practice, movement, music composition, moving image, and more! 🎨🎭📝🎶⁠

Join us for a two-day hands-on workshop exploring the space between personal imagery and regional ecology. Learn how to translate local environmental data, maps, and photographs into textured mixed media paintings using transfer techniques and collage.⁠

Administered by Bunnell Street Arts Center with support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the fund fosters risk-taking, public-facing visual arts projects across Alaska’s cultural ecosystem—from exhibitions and performances to publications, pop-up spaces, and community gatherings.⁠

Bunnell Street Arts Center’s Alaska AIR residency program seeks international, US and Alaska artists looking to create new work and strengthen the social, physical and economic fabric of Homer through the arts. Residencies of generally one month are scheduled in fall, winter and spring months of 2027 and 2028.⁠

We invite artists working in mediums including (but not limited to) visual arts, literary arts, performing arts, social and civic practice, ephemeral art, moving image, movement and dance, music composition and performance, and more to submit project proposals before October 15!⁠

Join artist in residence, Amy Meissner for her second workshop, Repairing with Children: Stuffed Animals & General Repairs⁠

You are invited to bring beloved stuffed friends or everyday items in need of care. By popular demand, artist Amy has expanded this hands-on workshop to include both stuffed animal mendings and general household fabric repairs.⁠
⁠
Together, we’ll learn to repair seams by hand, clean and re-stuff toys, and look at our everyday items closely to see how simple caregiving can keep them around for years to come.⁠
⁠
All basic supplies—including fabric scraps, needles, thread, scissors, and polyfil stuffing—are provided.⁠
⁠
Note: Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Bunnell Arts by Air is thrilled to welcome Juneau-born singer-songwriter Taylor Vidic to the Bunnell Street Arts Center on Friday, October 16th at 7:00 PM.⁠

Known for her lush, captivating vocals, emotive songwriting, and effortless charm, Taylor has become one of Alaska’s most dynamic musical voices. Fresh off the April release of her debut album, Cat & Mouse—a brilliant fusion of jazz and Americana recorded with nearly a dozen fellow Alaskan artists—she’s bringing her captivating sound right to our stage.⁠

✨️ Kalina Wińska (Oct 2–27) | Exploring environmental themes through works on paper and found materials. Look out for her upcoming two-day workshop and open studio hours.⁠

✨️ Amy Meissner (Oct 2–15) | Hosting two community repair workshops on Saturdays, Oct 3 and Oct 10.⁠
