🎣30th Annual Homer Elks Lodge #2127 Winter King Salmon Derby 🎣
✨️What a great weekend for the 30th Annual Homer Elks Lodge #2127 Winter King Salmon Derby, held October 3 & 4, 2026!
🚤This year we welcomed 144 anglers aboard 58 vessels, all hoping to land that winning Winter King.
🏆 Congratulations to our 2026 Derby Champion, Stormi Ence! Stormi took first place with an impressive 19.43 lb. salmon!
An event like this wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our community👏
🙌A huge THANK YOU to NAPA, LFS, Inc./Kachemak Gear Shed, Ulmer’s Drug & Hardware, NOMAR, Tad Covault, and Soldotna Trustworthy Hardware for donating prizes, that included a rod and reel, two marine batteries, a kayak, a vacuum packer, and more!
And behind every successful derby is an incredible group of volunteers🧑👩👨🦳👩🦳👱♂️👱♀️
💜A very special thank you to our fabulous Derby Chair, PER, PDDGER Mike Parish. Mike spends countless hours preparing for the derby, taking phone calls, checking in anglers, and manning the Lodge throughout the two-day event. His dedication year after year helps make this event possible.
Thank you to Mahealani Coila, who kept everything organized by logging all the weights, anglers’ names, and fishing boats into the system💻
⚖️Thank you to Lodge Trustee Les Gardner and Elk Member Don, who spent both days weighing in all those salmon!
🍔And, of course, we can’t forget the crew who fed everyone at the fishing banquet! A big thank you to PER, PSP Tom Stroozas; Emblem Members Debbie Stroozas and Marion Abeldgaard; PER Steve Mueller; and Elk Member George Hall for putting together a great meal🌭
