KHLT’s Conservation Project Manager is responsible for the development and completion of KHLT’s fee acquisitions, conservation easements, tradeland acquisitions and sales, and partner acquisitions or projects in which KHLT is involved.

🏆 2025 Kingmaker Award Recipient: Kachemak Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve 🏆

Each year, Kachemak Heritage Land Trust’s Kingmaker Award honors an individual or organization that has made a meaningful commitment to salmon conservation—protecting the lands and waters salmon need to thrive in Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet.

We are proud to recognize Kachemak Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (KBNERR) for their leadership in research, education, and coastal stewardship. Their work provides essential science, community learning, and collaboration that inform local policy and support long-term land and water protection.

Please join KHLT on December 10th at The Porcupine Theater for our annual membership meeting! After a review of our work this year, we are hosting a free screening of “Local Hero” (1983), a film that confronts the conflict between land development and community with humor, beauty, and thoughtfulness. This is a free event! All alcohol sales will directly benefit KHLT, and there will be food for purchase from Pika Pika. We hope you will join us—doors open at 5 pm!
