Destination Hilo is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to promote tourism to East Hawaii and the Big Island.

In 1986 Destination Hilo was founded as a private, non-profit corporation whose primary purpose is to promote tourism to East Hawaii and the Big Island. Its mission includes promoting sustainable and responsible tourism and perpetuating authentic Hawaiian culture. Through collaboration with public and private industry, Destination Hi

lo strives to increase visitor satisfaction, extend length of stay, and provide innovative visitor activities offering unique Hawaiian experiences. Efforts are focused on improving quality of life for residents by contributing to a healthy social and economic culture. Destination Hilo’s flagship “Hawaiian Greetings Program” provides music, entertainment, and networking services to thousands of visitors arriving at Hilo Pier and the Aloha Room. We are grateful for past and present support of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, the County of Hawaii and our very dedicated members.

The beaches in Hilo are closed. Time to visit museums. Hilo Hula Tuesday will be at Mokupapapa Discovery Center, 72 Kamehameha Ave, Hilo today, Feb 24, from 12 noon to 1:00. Music, Hula and Lei making. Then explore the museum. All free.

It's our new Hilo Hula Tuesdays at the Bandstand. Same mission - to promote Hawaiian culture and provide an unforgettable experience. You will see five different groups in December, so please join us for this free event from 12 noon to 1 p.m. And we've added more lei-making workshops.
