Born and raised on the North Shore of O’ahu, Mike Garcia is a connoisseur of local comedy. Growing up he was considered the class clown, and now has taken his gift and turned it into his profession and passion. Mike gained local notoriety with his skits on TikTok and instagram, and has since appeared in commercials + emcee’d many different events + performed stand up comedy and sold out numerous venues including (The Blue Note Hawaii, and the Hawaii Theatre). The Hilo Palace Theater and the Hilo Theatre Organ Society are proud to present 5x Comedy Short Films staring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, accompanied by a live score performed on the Mighty Palace Pipe Organ by organist Walter Greenwood. Films included in this program are Flying Elephants, The Second Hundred Years, Early to Bed, The Finishing Touch, and Battle of the Century (not necessarily in that order). Enjoy the timeless slapstick comedy of one of cinema’s most iconic duos.
Silent Movie Matinee events are joint fundraiser between the Friends of the Palace Theater and the Hilo Theatre Organ Society to raise funds for the ongoing maintenance of the Mighty Palace Pipe Organ

The Friends of the Palace Theater is proud to present LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS as our 2026 Fall Musical production! The annual Fall Musical show is our flagship fundraising event of the year, 100% of show proceeds directly support our mission to restore, revitalize and sustain the historic Palace Theater as a venue that will educate, entertain and inspire our diverse community.

Little Shop of Horrors features a live band bringing the iconic music to life for the all star local cast.

Show synopsis: The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” – after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!
