And, That’s A Wrap🌱! Thank you, James B. Dudley High School for another great year! We are tremendously appreciative to you for supporting our vision and mission in such a welcoming way!

On Wednesday, May 26, 2026, we had the pleasure of joining Mrs. Wooden (Business & CTE Teacher|FBLA Club Advisor) and several of her FBLA Club members to celebrate their successful club year!

We had the opportunity to share with these students about our three program initiatives:
🌱SEEDS FOR SUCCESS Entrepreneurship Development Assistance;
🌱SOW WHAT YOU KNOW Life Skill Munch & Learn Series; and,
🌱 T.A.M.E. HUNGER ~ That All May Eat: Initiative to Combat Food Insecurity Among Youth in Our Communities.

In turn, these brilliant young adults shared insight on their summer, post-graduation, and career plans: Leadership Camp; Summer Employment; Family Lawncare Enterprise; Resting; Business Degree; Psychology Degree; Entrepreneurship! It was heartwarming to watch as they showed genuine interest in the plans of their peers and responded with encouragement and invitations to join clubs and consider paths that will support their efforts and enhance their experiences as they explore their gifts and pursue their dreams! Take note, adults…These young people are living out the concept of “Unity In The Community”; and, they are all in for one another❤️❤️❤️!
~~~
“Thank You!” to our individual and corporate supporters for the encouragement, funding, item donations, and trust that you provide to OPERATION: SEED, INC. so that we can serve young people through our engagement, encouragement, education, equipping, and empowerment efforts!
On Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, OPERATION: SEED, INC., had a wonderful SOW WHAT YOU KNOW Soft Skills (Durable Skills) for Employment Life Skills Munch & Learn Series session with Mrs. Wooden’s (Business & CTE Teacher|FBLA Club Advisor) twenty-five students! Our guest speaker was Mr. Brian S. Finch, Ed.D., Training Specialist, Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, Inc. (Triad Goodwill).
Mr. Finch truly engaged with the students using questions, humor, encouragement, validation, and mutual exchanges of ideas and experiences. He established authentic points of connection with these teens through self-transparency and generational transparency!
Mr. Finch not only taught the students about Emotional Intelligence, Communication, Empathy, Time Management, the Importance of Listening, and Being In the Moment…but he also interspersed his teaching with space to inquire about and learn what the students knew and thought about these concepts…and how they apply them in their lives. These young adults are sharp and Mr. Finch acknowledged that truth whenever the students were courageous enough to share!
Even the OPERATION: SEED, INC. leaders learned a lot…just as we have from each of our guest speakers and every student!
We were excited to have three young ladies request our business card after learning about our entrepreneurship program! We look forward to hearing from them.
As always, we are profoundly appreciative of the opportunity to serve James B. Dudley High School! To Principal Gause, his Administration, Teachers, Front Office Staff, Students, and all who are part of this great school, we say… “Thank you for making room for us!”
To our individual and corporate supporters and donors…We are very grateful for your encouragement, kindness, and generosity! We are in this together!
OPERATION: SEED, INC. is closing in on completing its second year of serving students at the James B. Dudley High School! We are honored to be accepted into this amazing community!
This past Wednesday, we welcomed two top-tier gentlemen as guest speakers for our SOW WHAT YOU KNOW Life Skill Munch and Learn Series on “Resume Building and Soft Skills for Employment”:
Mr. Jordan Sapp, Business Services Representative (Youth) ~ NCWorks NextGen, Emerging Workforce Career Center.
and, OPERATION: SEED, INC.’s very own Board Member/Educational System Subject Matter Expert…
Mr. Chandler Price, Business Owner, Educator, Afterschool Program CEO serving Brightwood Elementary School, and Licensed Early Childhood Educator.
Mr. Price and Mr. Sapp provided the students with actionable insight on professional attire, polished presentation, and purposeful preparation as a few of the keys to unlock the doors to their career, educational, and personal life goals.
Just a few of the takeaways…
Honesty is the ONLY policy (don’t lie on your resume…you will be found out). An awesome resume is useless if you don’t include your contact information. Use AI as a tool, not a crutch (content can be checked through an AI detector). Include relevant coursework and job experience. Proofread for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Dress respectfully. Don’t wear cologne/perfume. Code switch (check your slang at the door).
The students listened, learned, and engaged with the presenters! Mr. Sapp was able to provide Mr. Snead (CTE/Careers/Special Populations Coordinator) with access to possible summer employment opportunities through NextGen for ten students! Mr. Price offered follow-up assistance to the students and they readily took him up on the offer (he arrived with plenty of his business cards…and left with less than a few)!
We are grateful to Mrs. Wendy Wooden, Business & CTE Teacher|FBLA Advisor; Mrs. Joyce Washington, Marketing Teacher|Beauty & Beyond Club Advisor/Barber & Beyond Club Advisor; and Ms. McClurkin-Carter, Computer Science Teacher, for sharing their fifty-five amazing students with us! Their young adults are absolutely amazing and we love interacting with them!
Many thanks to our individual and corporate donors and supporters! You matter more than you know!
OPERATION: SEED, INC. had a great day at James B. Dudley High School on Wednesday, May 6th! We truly appreciated the opportunity to engage, encourage, educate, and empower twenty-four students in Mrs. Wooden’s class and twenty-four students in Mrs. Washington’s class. Our SOW WHAT YOU KNOW Life Skill Munch and Learn focus was: “Resume Building and Soft Skills for Employment”.
Our brilliant guest presenters were: Mrs. Sandra Goldman, PHR | Six Sigma/Greenbelt Certified; and Dr. James Hairston, Ph.D. | Assistant Professor, NC A&T State University Department of Leadership Studies & Adult Education.
Mrs. Goldman and Dr. Hairston equipped the students with tools of technique and tools of personal uniqueness as they prepare to enter their post-high school journey.
“Success isn't about being the smartest person in the room. It's about being the most reliable, the most helpful, and the most adaptable.” ~ Mrs. Goldman
“Sometimes what you need is already inside of you…you just need the right environment to become the best that you can be. Surround yourself with people who will empower you. I see you. I believe in you. And you do matter.” ~ Dr. Hairston
We are grateful to Dr. Gause (Principal) and the leadership team at Dudley High School for continuing to share their scholars and their space with us. A big “Thank you!” to the students for allowing us to serve them. Applause for Jennifer and her team at Bojangles in Oak Ridge for always being on point with our Cajun Chicken Biscuits order for the teens! Much appreciation to Publix in High Point for their gift card generosity!
Always, to our individual and corporate supporters…including Cone Health Foundation, Sheetz, Target, and others…Thank you for believing in and investing in our vision and mission as we endeavor to serve the young people in our shared communities! We will do our very best to do our very best with every opportunity that comes our way.
Sincerely,
