✂️ Calling All Barbers & Hairstylists!

IAM is hosting a Back-to-School Haircut Clinic and we need YOU! We're providing local kids in need with new clothes and shoes, and we want to top it off with a fresh cut to match.

If you're a barber or hairstylist, we'd love for you to donate a few hours of your time and talent on August 5th from 3–6 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville. Bring your tools and help kids walk into the first day of school feeling confident and cared for.

An in-kind donation letter will be provided for all haircuts donated.

🌟 Continuing our Volunteer Appreciation Week, meet our Volunteer of the Year, Vera Anders!

Vera has been with IAM since 2009, volunteering nearly five days a week across countless roles. She came to IAM through a family member who needed help during an incredibly hard time, and instead of just saying thank you, she rolled up her sleeves and never left.

Over 15 years later, that family member's children are in and graduating from college. And Vera is still here, still smiling, still one of the first faces we see every morning.

If your family could benefit from our Back-to-School Assistance this summer, please take a moment to fill out our short form. Every child already receives a new outfit, underwear, socks, and shoes. But we are looking at what else we might be able to add this year, and your input will help guide that decision.
Tell us what your child needs most. Your voice matters and we are listening. 💙

Every child deserves to walk into the first day of school feeling ready and confident. We are collecting clothing for local kids in kindergarten through 5th grade, and we would love your help making that happen for families right here in Henderson County. 🍎
Most needed right now:

Boys large & XL tops and bottoms
Sneakers (sizes 12 kids – 10 adult)
New underwear and socks (all sizes)

We can use anything and everything. Shirts, pants, shoes, and more for K–5th grade. New or gently used clothing is always welcome.
Drop off Monday–Friday 9–3 at either location:

We could never fully put into words how much our volunteers mean to us, but we're going to try! 🎉 We're kicking off our first Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we are so proud of our volunteers, that we're making it a monthly thing.

A huge shoutout to two incredible groups from last week:

🙌Lutheran Disaster Response in the Carolinas sent down a group of students from Trinity Academy of Raleigh who came and jumped right in, serving in both our pantry and clothing departments. You guys were amazing!

🫶 Biltmore Church, thank you for your generous donation of backpacks for our upcoming back to school events AND for treating our staff to lunch. You blessed us in more ways than one!

And that's just the beginning, scroll through to see even more of the wonderful volunteers who gave their time and hearts to our community. We truly could not do this without you. 💙

There are neighbors in our community who need a little help this month, and you can be part of that. 💙 IAM's updated Pantry and Clothing Needs lists are out for June. A simple way to see exactly what's needed and how you can make a difference for our neighbors facing hard times.

Food and clothing donations can be dropped off at our facility at 310 Freeman Street, Monday through Friday, 9 am - 3 pm.

Had such a great time at The Mercy Chair's Community Carnival yesterday! 🎡 Petting zoo, inflatables, food, music, and an amazing community all in one place. All proceeds go toward expanding their mission to serve people in need.
