Our Holiday Food Drive is off to a wonderful start thanks to the Carriage Park community in Hendersonville. 💙

Helen and Chuck Bosshart, who are both Carriage Park neighbors and IAM volunteers, organized a food drive in their community, and the response was incredible. Carriage Park brought in 1,347 pounds of food, along with $760 in monetary donations.

Gifts like this mean so much to us, and even more to the neighbors who will be sitting down to a holiday meal because of it. Thank you to Helen, Chuck, and everyone at Carriage Park for kicking off the season with such generosity. 🙏

Four years ago this month, the IAM Mobile Pantry truck first hit the road. 🚚

The idea has always been simple. Not every neighbor can make it to our main building, so we bring the food to them. Since then, the truck has pulled up in church parking lots, neighborhoods, and community spaces across Henderson County, setting out fresh produce and pantry staples for families who might otherwise go without.

Meeting people where they are matters. Getting to a pantry can mean finding a ride, taking time off work, or making it across the county with kids in tow. When the pantry comes to the neighborhood, one of those barriers goes away.

And bringing the pantry to the neighborhood only works because of our volunteers. They set up at every stop, hand out the food, and greet every neighbor, year after year. The Mobile Pantry could not run without their steady and dedicated service to this community and to our neighbors.

Thank you to our volunteers, to the churches and partners who open their lots to us, and to every neighbor who has stopped by. Thank you for four years of letting us be part of your community. 💙

We are $2,000 away from completing the Building Hope challenge, and the final days are here. 💙

This campaign began with a challenge grant from Trinity Presbyterian Church, and our community has answered it. So far, $8,000 has been raised toward our $10,000 goal to help neighbors stay in their homes through rent and mortgage assistance.

A safe, stable home helps a family stay connected to work, school, healthcare, and each other. This year alone, IAM has helped more than 260 households with rent and mortgage assistance. When a household falls behind after a hard month, timely help can keep that from becoming a housing crisis, and we do not take the trust behind these gifts lightly.

The challenge ends this Saturday, October 31, and every gift made before then counts toward finishing what this community started. Any amount that feels right to you will help us cross the finish line and help one more neighbor stay home.

The IAM Thrift Store’s 2026 Holiday Spectacular is underway, and there is plenty still ahead. 🎄

Christmas decor is already on the shelves, and today the Christmas clothing arrives, including ugly sweaters and festive outfits. Over the next week you will find holiday treats, new gift items, and some great savings. Every purchase at our Thrift Store goes directly to assist neighbors in need, so you can shop for the season and give back at the same time.

Building Hope is in its final days, and we are so close. The community has raised $6,420.50 toward our $10,000 goal, and with Trinity Presbyterian Church’s matching gift, that is already $12,841 in housing assistance for neighbors who need it. 💙

Each of those gifts is someone choosing to help a neighbor stay in their home. When a household falls behind on rent or a mortgage after a hard month, timely help can keep that from becoming a housing crisis, and we do not take the trust behind these gifts lightly.

Bearfootin’ is more than a colorful art walk. In the words of Downtown Hendersonville, NC, “It’s a community tradition that brings together local artists, businesses, residents, and visitors to support the organizations that make Hendersonville the place we all love.” This sentiment continues to resonate with us year after year, and this year’s auction raised $145,700 for local nonprofits, the most in its history. 💙

Across the auction, 80 bidders placed 327 bids, and our bear, Remem-bear Me, found a home on the very first day. It meant a great deal to see this community rally around the organizations that care for their neighbors, and that support helps us keep our doors open for the people who need us.

Thank you to the entire community, to every bidder, artist, sponsor, and volunteer who made this possible. Thank you to United Community Bank for sponsoring our bear, to Anthony Acosta for the care and love he put into creating it, and to Friends of Downtown Hendersonville for bringing it all together year after year. We are deeply grateful for each of you. 🐻

A reminder that the Bearfootin’ Auction celebration takes place today. 🐻

The community is invited to join us at the Historic Courthouse Plaza in downtown Hendersonville from 4 to 6 p.m. to view the bears, celebrate the artists, and take part in an event that gives back to our community.

Bidding remains open and will close at 6 p.m. today. Starting bids are $1,500, and registration on the auction website is required before placing a bid. Attendance at the celebration is not required to win. The link to the auction is available in the comments.

Every bear in this auction benefits a local nonprofit in Henderson County. We are grateful to Friends of Downtown Hendersonville for hosting this event and to everyone who has participated. 💙
