Hendersonville Rescue Mission is proud to announce the first ever George Cox Life Skills Award. Named for our founder, this award was presented to a resident that has overcome tremendous personal challenges to acquire basic life skills, self-advocacy, and independence.
Clifford came to the Mission with no family, no healthcare, very little life training, and no work history. Our staff welcomed him, helped him settle, and began to patiently guide him in these areas.
His extended time at the Mission has been transformational. Through his spiritual growth and persistence in taking on these challenges, Clifford now has a fresh outlook on life. He has been able to address his health needs, gain life skills needed for independence, receive work training as a Mission Attendant, and realize his identity as a beloved child of God.
It is a joy for us to know Clifford and to witness this transformation. We look forward to all that God has in store for his life. Congratulations!!
