Cierre de calles en Halloween

Main Street desde Allen Street hasta 6th Avenue estará cerrada el sábado 31 de octubre de 2026, de 6 a 6 de la tarde para montar el Carnaval de Treat Street y el evento, que comienza a las 2:00 pm.

👻 Halloween Street Closure

Main Street from Allen Street to 6th Avenue will be closed on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 6am – 6 pm for Treat Street Carnival setup and the event, which begins at 2pm.

No parking of vehicles after 6:00 am on Main Street and inside the event barriers. Visitors to downtown are encouraged to park at the Parking Garage at 5th Avenue W and Church Street, or on side streets outside of the event footprint.

🚗 Free Morning Parking at the City Parking Garage at the corner of Church and 5th Avenue W: The City of Hendersonville has designated free parking in the Downtown Parking Garage from 6am to 2pm on Saturday, October 31.

North Carolina, don't stop at the candidates. Your ballot has THREE more decisions that matter!

Early voting is underway, and North Carolinians will decide on three proposed constitutional amendments that could shape our state's future.

Here's what you're being asked to vote on:

1. Voter Identification: Should the state constitution require photo ID for all voting methods, including absentee voting?

2. State Income Taxes: Should the maximum allowable state income tax rate be lowered from 7% to 3.5%?

3. Property Taxes: Should the state legislature be required to set limits on how much local governments can increase property taxes?

NC Counts Coalition is joining with to raise awareness about these proposed amendments and help North Carolinians understand what's at stake.

These decisions go beyond one election. Take time to understand what each amendment means before casting your ballot.

Election Day: November 3, 2026

Hoy, en nuestra reunión mensual con organizaciones asociadas, exploramos la exposición del "People's Museum" para el Día de los Mu***os. Aprendimos sobre carga pública y conmemoramos a Daniel A. Benavides por su dedicación a la comunidad.

Daniel A. Benavides -

trabajó en Blue Ridge Community Health Services (BRCHS) haciendo alcance a la comunidad durante 26 años. Daniel era muy conocido en la comunidad por su trabajo con la población migrante y de trabajadores agrícolas. Fue especialista en Alcance Comunitario en (BRCHS). Obtuvo un Premio a la Trayectoria de Vida por su extenso trabajo con las poblaciones migrantes y los trabajadores agrícolas. Formó parte de las juntas directivas de varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro locales, entre ellas la Latino Advocacy Coalition - El Centro (como miembro fundador), el Centro de Recursos para Niños y Familias, la Fraternidad Unitaria.

Today, in our monthly meeting with partner organizations, we explored "The People's Museum's" exhibit for Day of the Dead. We learned about public charge and commemorated Daniel A. Benavides for his dedication to the community.

Daniel A. Benavides -

worked at Blue Ridge Community Health Services (BRCHS) doing outreach to the community for 26 years. Daniel was very well known in the community for his work with the migrant and farmworker population. He was an Outreach Specialist at (BRCHS). He earned a Lifetime Achievement Award for his extensive work with migrant and farmworker populations. He served on the boards of several local nonprofits, including the Latino Advocacy Coalition - El Centro (as a founding member), the Children and Family Resource Center, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hendersonville (UUFH), and The Free Clinics. Universalista de Hendersonville (UUFH) y Las Clínicas Gratuitas (The Free Clinics).
