Greater Helena Gives begins Wednesday evening!

Your $75 donation helps us create free, meaningful outdoor experiences for the Helena community all year long. It helps light the path during our annual Winter Solstice Lantern Walk on Mount Helena each December. It supports hands-on learning through our Chickadee Trial classes. It helps us host guided hikes for families. And it makes space for even more seasonal events we have planned that connect people to nature and our community!

Join us in continuing to offer these free outdoor experiences where families can connect with our local places, enjoy the nature that surrounds us, and gather as a community. ✨

Greater Helena Gives is next week! And as you’re looking ahead for ways you can help Helena’s local non-profits, here’s how $25 helps Helena Field School!

A $25 donation helps fund a week of hands-on learning in our outdoor education programs. It helps us purchase everyday essentials that make the lessons more engaging - materials such as clay, string, play dough, and paints for learners to build, create, and deepen their understanding of a topic or as a means of creative exploration, ingredients for cooking projects, paper and printer ink for relevant printables and to help with visuals, nature journals for every learner, and so many more items and tools that help make our lessons hands-on, engaging, and memorable for our learners!

We are so grateful for any contributions that help us continue to provide quality lessons to all our learners in camps and classes!

In the earliest years, Rachel Carson emphasized that it’s more important to cultivate a sense of wonder and awe before introducing facts or correct names. As children grow, Richard Louv shows that learning the names of things becomes more meaningful. It builds connection. A bond to the plant, animal, or place. A way of truly knowing it. Wonder, curiosity, and awe do not disappear, but rather deepens as knowledge grows.

We'd love to help you get outside with your kids this Winter season!

The benefits to our kids from time in nature, in all seasons, are numerous (including boosted immune system, better sleep, increased focus and so much more) And isn't it so much easier to get outside there with friends!?

This winter 6 week session we'll get outside to learn about Persistence - the ability to stick with something, meet challenges and push ahead in order to either reach our goals, learn and grow. Each lesson is inspired by a different, persistent animal superhero.

Wednesdays from Jan 28-March 4th
10-11am
Ages 2-8

Flexible sign-up options and free trial classes. Find all the details here ⬇️
