For more than 100 years, since being challenged by Helen Keller in 1925 to be "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness", Lions Clubs have focused on preventing blindness, supporting eye health, and empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Lions clubs improve their communities around the world.

Lions in India received a LCIF District and Club Community Impact Grant award of US$6,923 to purchase 100 bicycles for female students from rural areas. The bikes will be used to help the girls attend school and boost attendance.
