is an organization of citizens of Hamilton, Ohio who are dedicated to the identification and preservation of historical features, artifacts, structures, and items within the Hamilton community. Our task is to identify projects that need attention and which pertain to the history of our city, then organize plans, resources, and support for such projects until they are completed. We attempt to blend

ideas, people, and financial resources to support, preserve and enhance the history of our community. We are a 501C3 organization which means all contributions to our projects are tax deductible.

The Butler County Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, after the Memorial Day Parade on May 25, 2026 at 11:15am.

The Butler County Memorial Day Committee's goal is to support and create awareness of Gold Star Families and TAPS Families, survivors of casualties of war.

Lieutenant General Rick Lynch, U.S. Army (Retired) from Hamilton is the Keynote Speaker and former Hamilton Mayor Aldolfo Olivas is scheduled to speak from his perspective as a Gold Star father.

Please join us at Greenwood Cemetery, 1602 Greenwood Ave, Hamilton 45011. The Remembrance Ceremony is open to the public and all citizens.

Heads up for those looking for something history related this Saturday.
Garfield Jr High is hosting a huge event for America's 250th birthday.
Come out and say hello to us. We'll be located by the Lane Library History dept. and Hollow Earth Fest booths!

Hamilton is ready to make history! On Saturday, May 16, 2026, our community will join the nationwide America 250 commemorations with a massive celebration at Garfield Middle School.

The Garfield America250 Community Fair kicks off at 3:00 p.m. and promises an unforgettable experience for all ages. Attendees will enjoy a full lineup of historical demonstrations that bring our nation’s past to life, live performances showcasing local talent, and a festive atmosphere perfect for families and neighbors. We will conclude the evening with a brilliant fireworks display to honor two and a half centuries of the American spirit.

Mark your calendars for this once-in-a-lifetime event. We look forward to seeing the entire Hamilton community come together to celebrate our history and our future.

Our Vice President, Brad Spurlock, helped the local DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) chapter submit information about some Revolutionary Veterans buried in Greenwood Cemetery. They applied for and will be erecting a sign recognizing the Veterans buried there.
Brad is the manager of the Smith/Cummins History libraries at the Lane Libraries. If you want a property history done, or want more information on things in Butler County, contact the history team or Butler County Historical Society. They are always happy to help.
