From a singular doe im milk sharing with 3 kids shes producing 3-3.5 cups daily. Her milk is rich and honestly surprisingly creamy. I think once kids are weaned we are going to have someone much which is awesome because now we wont have to buy milk for Edens soap and instead it can be made with our own milk which I think is better and more rewarding. This doe is currently raising triplets and still producing this over a roughly 12 hour period. Yes not as great as a super dairy lone but id take a little less quantity over better quality and thicker creamier milk. Shes definitely going to be one we try and breed on and get better milking lines going ❤️

You can see an increase between even the two udder pictures (one with her tail down is today and the other is probably 3 or 4 days ago) And shes an easy keeper, she puts on weight while milking. Nothing more i could ask for *other than maybe longer teats lol my poor hands 😭*

I’ve been a little quiet lately, and I figured it was time to explain why. Farm life is beautiful and rewarding, but sometimes it’s also really hard. Over the past little while we lost one of our farm cats, Franklin, and one of our doe goats, Artemis, and honestly I just haven’t really known how to put that into words.

When you care for animals every day, they become part of your routine, your plans, and your heart. Losing them leaves a space that’s hard to ignore, even when there’s still work to do and mouths to feed.

Things here are slowly moving forward again. The goats are growing, chores still need doing, and life on the farm doesn’t really stop. I’m trying to focus on the good moments while giving myself space to miss the ones we lost.

Callisto is doing okay with her boys, and we’re planning to keep them (castrated of course) so she can stay with them long term. We also took in another older doe to make sure she had company, but she and Callisto are definitely not seeing eye to eye, so it looks like we’ll be running two separate pens now 🙃 It’s always something around here.

But the important things are that everyone is okay, the kids are growing, mom is healthy, and we’re continuing forward one day at a time.

Thank you to everyone who’s checked in, followed along, or supported this little farm through the ups and downs. We appreciate it more than you know.

Hades and callisto will miss franklin and artemis but they will be okay in time.

"Will you take __ instead of __" that's what i hear so often. If i have an animal priced at a specific price its that way for a reason. You dont walk into the grocery store and haggle with the butcher or the cashier so why do it with me? I sell birds, rabbits and eggs as my sole source of money right now so when someone tries to haggle me down its like a slap in the face. I've done the hard part I raised the chicks, I separated sexes and I fed them.

Its just disheartening to have someone basically disregard my pricing, time and effort.

On another note though I have a few birds still ready to go. Laying hens and younger pullets.

Quail are finally starting to breed. Mostly standard coturnix but a few celadon as well 😍😍

These babies are the cutest little things. Still waiting on artemis (our buckskin doe) to kid then once they are weaned and ready they will be sold we are going to keep one or two obviously so if your looking for a buck (or wether) since all three of these are boys let me know and once artemis has her kids we will see if they are male or female. We are hoping for a doe.

Im looking forward to fresh milk again and trying cheese, soap, lotion and multiple other things.

🕷️ New Tiny (and Not-So-Tiny) Rescues at EZ Farms 🕷️

Saturday we added some very small — and a couple slightly bigger — new residents to the rescue family here at EZ Farms.

After seeing several reports online about poor conditions for spiders in local pet stores, we decided to check on the situation ourselves. Unfortunately, what we found wasn’t great. Moldy substrate, standing water, and feeder insects left loose in enclosures meant several animals weren’t getting the care they needed. So we did what we always try to do when we see animals struggling — we stepped in and brought a few home to give them a better chance.

First, meet our Regal Jumping Spiders:

👑 Princess (or Prince) Bubblegum – our curious explorer who has been busy checking out every corner of the enclosure.

🦇 Marceline – the tiny hunter who already successfully caught fruit flies on the first day!

🌱 Sweet Pea – our quiet little builder who has been working hard on their hammock nest.

Sadly, a fourth jumper we named Elise passed shortly after we brought everyone home, likely due to the conditions they had been living in before the rescue.

Jumping spiders are incredibly unique creatures. Unlike most spiders, they rely heavily on their eyesight to hunt and explore. They’re curious, intelligent, and often surprisingly interactive — many will even turn to watch the people around them. They also build tiny silk hammocks near the tops of their homes where they sleep at night or molt as they grow.

But the rescues didn’t stop there.

We also brought home a Curly Hair Tarantula, who has officially been named Gizmo. Curly hairs are known for their calm temperament and their adorable fuzzy appearance, and Gizmo is already settling into a much cleaner and safer enclosure.

And last but not least, we rescued a young king snake who is currently settling in while we decide on a name. Right now the two contenders are Jörmungandr or Ouroboros, both names inspired by legendary serpents.

At EZ Farms, our rescue mission has always been about giving animals a chance when they’re overlooked or misunderstood — and that includes the tiny ones too. 💚

We’ll be sharing updates as these little rescues grow, settle in, and show off their personalities. If you’ve never learned about jumping spiders, tarantulas, or snakes before, you might be surprised just how fascinating (and charming!) they can be.

Stay tuned for more rescue updates and spider adventures. 🕸️

Today is a pretty big day for the rescue portion of the farm. Blu here is our very first resident that I (Eden) took in 10 years ago. She is what sparked my love for saving animals that dont have a voice for themselves.

She was taken from her mom by a not so great human way to early so I had to work quickly to get her and her brother away from that person to be able to properly care for them. They both needed moms milk still so I worked for weeks feeding them bottles, teaching them to go to the bathroom, letting them be healthy kittens and regular vet checks early on.

Well Blu was dealt the very short end of the stick.... not only was the poor thing taken early but she has multiple illnesses effecting her growth. She started loosing her sight at 3 months old and it wasn't until she was about 6 that we found it was caused by a hyperthyroid condition. She has never been able to keep weight and has never weighed more then 6lbs. As well as developing feline dementia. She is also allergic to a number of common medications making treating her for things like mites and fleas is difficult. Shes always had sensitive skin and scratches or cuts herself very easily. On top of all that she is an extreme fighter! Shes been to the ER not once but twice in her 10 years of life and both times shes looked death in the face with her big galaxy eyes and said "Nah, I still have more exploring to do." Ive almost lost her to medication reaction and birthing complications because she had an unexpected pregnancy at 2 years old.. She is and always will be my Soul Kitty.... I love her more then I love myself most days.

Despite everything... all the bad days shes had. She has shown me she has so many more good days then bad. She is lively, loves to play still, has bursts of kitten energy still, always talks to me when I enter a room and sleeping doesnt feel right without her tucked into my legs every night.

And today is her day! Happy 10th Birthday Blu!!! You deserve all the treats and all the attention today 💜🎉 Im so proud of how far youve come and the pleasure to keep having amazing days feeling your genuine love and appreciation you show us. I love you pretty girl!

My beautiful birthday mama!
