Have you ever tried Raw, Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar?

Our small-batch apple cider vinegar is crafted from local apples and naturally fermented for 9 months using traditional methods. Raw, unfiltered, and containing the mother, each bottle develops a rich flavor that only time can create. Perfect for salad dressings, marinades, cooking, pickling, or your favorite daily tonic. Limited stock available!

Come on out tomorrow from 9-12!

Along with our vinegar we will have produce, peach fritters, cage free eggs and our own wood-fire roasted coffee. We also have a new batch of tallow body butter, chapsticks, old fashioned lye soaps and raw milk and butter.

See you tomorrow at rhe 7 Sisters Heritage Farm!

Its peach season! And what better way to celebrate than peach fritters. But these aren't just any peach fritters. We are combining 2 of our own orchard peaches along with South Carolina peaches to make the perfect trifecta. Each fritter has chunks of peaches in a rich peach infused batter. After they are fried they are glazed in a special peach glaze made with our own peach simple syrup. The only thing that would make this complete? Our freshly roasted Dixie Dawn coffee (1 lb for $20, Buttahatchee bold roast $25)

You can get them tomorrow at the stand from 9-12. Pre-orders are always preferred.
2 for $5
6 for $15
12 for $25

Love these peaches? We just pulled in a bunch of yellow south Carolina peaches that are also available 1 basket for $15.

See you tomorrow!

“Laying by” the corn.

That’s an old farming term I used to hear from my pawpaw. A lot of folks my age and younger may not know what it means.

To “lay by” a crop means you’ve done the last cultivation of the season. The corn is now too tall to cultivate with equipment or work between the rows without risking damage. So you leave it alone to finish growing. Some say to lay it by when the corn makes tassels. Others say you wait till the corn shades the middle of the row. I've heard "Waist high, lay it by." However, I think you definitely want to "Lay it by before the 4th of July." Ha!

There’s something satisfying about looking at your field of corn after it’s been laid by. The planting, hoeing, cultivating, and weeding are mostly behind you. Now the corn is left to finish growing on its own (with God's help, of course).

I think old phrases like "laying by" are worth preserving. They carry a whole way of life with them.

Joe

Historical Note: My grandfather, born in 1929, planted 20 acres of field corn each year, which supplied both their family and two mules with plenty to eat until the next crop. The same corn provided cream corn, corn on the cob, cornbread, corn fritters, hominy, grits, corn husk dolls for the kids, corncob toilet paper for the outhouse, and much more.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for making today such a fantastic success at the Hamilton Farmers Market at Tractor Supply! We had an incredible turnout, with amazing vendors offering fresh produce, crafts, baked goods and animals. A huge thank you to Tractor Supply for their incredible generosity in sponsoring this event and providing such a fantastic space for us all.

Now, onto the next next big event! July 4th will be the next marker and will be themed “Hometown Heroes.” We are celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence, and we want to honor our Police, Firefighters, National Guard, Paramedics, Veterans, and all first responders.

We are currently seeking farmers, vendors, food trucks as well as local musicians who are willing to perform for the community. Please contact me directly for more information on signing up or getting involved. While we can’t offer a set fee, we will have a tip bucket so performers can earn support from the crowd.
Let’s come together once again, as a community, to make this July 4th truly special. Thank you all, and I can’t wait to hear from you!

Fire-Roasted Coffee Pre-Orders Open for This Saturday

We’ll have a very limited supply of fresh-roasted coffee available this Saturday at both the 7 Sisters Farmstand and the Tractor Supply Farmer’s Market in Hamilton. Friday pickup is also available at the house. Once it’s gone, it’s gone until our next green coffee shipment arrives, hopefully next week. Please pre-order to reserve your bag.

Dixie Dawn Medium Roast - $20/lb
A smooth, balanced, and easy-drinking everyday cup.

Buttahatchee Bold Roast - Limited First Release - $25/lb
We only have 3 lbs left from this limited run! Buttahatchee Bold starts with a single-origin high-altitude bean and is roasted to the edge of second crack, creating a dark, oil-kissed bean with notes of dark smoky cacao, raisin, and toasted walnut. Bold, smooth, and full-bodied.

COFFEE NERD NOTE: Our darker roasts naturally lose more weight during roasting, so it takes about 25% more green coffee to produce each finished 1 lb bag. Because of that, I'm thinking we'll release them in small, limited batches at $25/lb to gauge interest. We welcome your feedback.

If our gate is open, you're welcome to stop by. Or give us a heads up so we know you're coming! Thanks!
