Allow us to introduce you to the one, the only, James Bond—a handsome 3-year-old black-and-white tuxedo who looks like he was born for the role. After all, what better name for a sophisticated gentleman who permanently wears a tuxedo?

James recently completed an undercover assignment at a cat colony. Unfortunately, his fellow agents weren’t exactly welcoming, and James found himself being bullied by the other cats. Realizing it was time to abandon that mission, he packed his bags, left the colony behind, and reported for duty at Animal Adoption Foundation.

Here at AAF, James is ready for a fresh start—and this laid-back fellow is proving that he much prefers a peaceful life. He can be a bit shy when you first meet him but give him some time and he’ll happily accept affection and enjoy a good round of pets. And when James has something to say, well… he isn’t afraid to use his voice! Apparently, even the most secretive agents need to check in with headquarters from time to time.

James Bond isn’t looking for danger, intrigue or another undercover assignment. He’s simply looking for a quiet, loving home where he can relax, feel safe and enjoy being appreciated for the handsome gentleman he is.

His next mission? Finding his forever family.

This time, James Bond hopes it will be a mission that ends with happily ever after. ❤️

Good day everyone, and welcome to the Saturday Animal Adoption Foundation cat post. And today’s post is a special one! Why is that you ask? Well, it’s because today’s post features not just one, but two adorable felines for your viewing pleasure. Please allow me to introduce to you the six-month-old siblings Sylvester and Brigadeiro! Sylvester is a black, short-haired male, while Brigadeiro is a black, short-haired female.

These siblings were originally adopted in Florida, but when their owners moved to Ohio, they were no longer able to care for them and had to surrender them to the Animal Adoption Foundation shelter. Although the move to the shelter was a difficult change, both have adapted and are now ready and waiting for the day when they find a new forever home. And if you are debating the wisdom of owning two black cats, consider this – in many cultures black cats are considered lucky! In Japan they are symbols of good fortune and love, while in Scotland a strange black cat arriving on your porch signals prosperity. Also, think of the fun you can have with visitors! Tell them you only have one black cat and watch them do double takes when they keep seeing two black cats!

So, if you’re ready to double your pleasure and double your fun, maybe you should visit the Animal Adoption Foundation shelter at 2480 Ross Millville Rd, Hamilton, OH 45013, and ask to see Sylvester and Brigadeiro. It could be a great day to be seeing double!

Meet Quinn 🖤

Quinn is a female, Black Lab, who is 60lbs full of love and wiggles! After separation in her home she was surrendered to a shelter in Indiana, and from there she found her way to the Animal Adoption Foundation.

Since being here she has done FABULOUSLY with car rides. She loves to romp around in our play yards, snuggle with volunteers, and walks with her noise to the ground looking for exciting smells.

Our Wellness Clinic services both cats and dogs that are in good health and safe to handle. Animals must be at least 12 weeks or older.

Here is one of the many reasons why it is important to keep your pets up to date on flea and tick prevention: Lyme Disease.

Keeping your pets up to date on prevention is an important part of keeping them safe and comfortable.

Without preventions, your pets and even yourself are at risk of being exposed to discomfort and skin irritation from fleas and ticks. In some cases, their bites can ever cause allergic reactions.

Not only are you and your pets at risk of discomfort from these pests, but you’re also at risk of contracting scary diseases like Lyme Disease. Lyme disease in your pet can look like joint pain, fever, and in some severe cases it causes harm to the kidneys.

Warning: heartbreaker 💔

Leon’s story with us started back in May. He was transferred to our shelter along with 10 other kittens, all of which were scheduled to be euthanized.

Now, 3 months later, Leon is still waiting for his forever home. He has watched all of his siblings, friends, and every other litter in the shelter be adopted. A lot of people have been interested in adopting Leon, but they always decide on another kitten who is smaller or “cuter”.

As amazing as Leon is, and how much our staff and volunteers love him, we want nothing more than for him to have a home of his own.

He is the PURR-fect kitten and would make a great addition to any family. He is handsome, friendly to humans and other cats, likes to snuggle, and has the cutest voice he likes to show off typically before meal time! 🧡

Meet Pawbert Redfurd — A Captivating Leading Man!

Move over, Hollywood—there’s a new leading man in town, and his name is Pawbert Redfurd! This handsome one-year-old black domestic short hair bobtail was found as a stray, but there’s nothing ordinary about this boy.

Much like the actor he’s named after, Pawbert has a captivating presence. In fact, Ordinary People simply can’t handle his aura! 😎

Pawbert is a VERY vocal gentleman who has absolutely no intention of being ignored. If you happen to overlook him, he will be more than happy to remind you that he is there. And if you’re wondering what he wants, the answer is pretty simple: he wants to be where his people are. Whether that means hanging out nearby or getting some well-deserved attention, Pawbert wants to be part of the action.

He’s also got a terrific supporting-actor quality: Pawbert does wonderfully with other cats! He even has experience as an unofficial kitten babysitter. If a curious little kitten happens to escape its territory, Pawbert is happy to supervise the situation. Apparently, even feline chaos is better with a responsible adult in the room!

Greetings everyone, and welcome to the Animal Adoption Foundation Saturday Facebook post. Today’s post is somewhat different - it is not a post for an animal needing adoption; it is instead a post about the need for persons willing to foster animals and prepare them for adoption. Not every animal needs fostering, but when they do, fosters are a critical link who can make the difference between an animal being adopted, and one who stays at the shelter.

Fostering animals has been defined as a short-term commitment with long-term rewards. After having fostered cats and kittens for three years, I can personally say that truer words were never spoken. You get attached to your fosters in the short time they are with you, and there is sadness when they leave your home. But there is also great joy when you read through the weekly list of adopted animals and see your foster’s name, because you know that in a small way you helped make that adoption happen.

Every shelter depends on fosters, and becoming a foster for the AAF is not a difficult process. If you love animals and would like to learn more about fostering for the Animal Adoption Foundation, please read on.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I BECOME A FOSTER?
This is a two-step process. The first step is to fill out an application to become a foster volunteer. This can be done in person at the shelter, located at 2480 Ross-Millville Road, Hamilton OH, or online at https://aafpets.org/adopt/foster-a-pet The second step is that your application will be reviewed and once the review is complete, you will be contacted by someone from the shelter who will discuss fostering with you and answer any questions.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BECOME A FOSTER?
There is no fee to become a foster. The shelter will provide food, equipment, and veterinary care for the animal. Your only expense will be transporting the animal, as needed, to and from the shelter, and possibly to and from vet appointments.

WHAT DOES A FOSTER HAVE TO DO?
As a foster, you need to provide for the animal’s daily care. You have to see to it that the animal has food, water, and a safe place to stay. Depending on the animal’s age and condition, play and/or exercise may be needed.

WHY DO ANIMALS NEED TO BE FOSTERED?
There are many reasons. Sometimes the animal may be too young to be adopted, or the animal may be recovering from surgery or a medical condition, or the shelter may be full and the only option for rescuing the animal is fostering it until room is available at the shelter.

WHAT KIND OF ANIMALS WILL I FOSTER?
That is totally up to you. The AAF houses both cats and dogs, but the majority of our fosters are for cats. When you are contacted by the shelter, part of the call will be to find out what type of animals you would like to foster – young or adult, dogs or cats, etcetera. You will never be asked to foster an animal that is outside of your comfort zone!

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO FOSTER AN ANIMAL?
That depends on why the animal needs to be fostered. You will not be asked to foster an animal if it interferes with planned activities such as vacations. If an emergency arises where you can no longer foster an animal, the shelter will locate another person to take over fostering.
