Today was one of those days that filled our hearts. ❤️🤍💙

A sincere thank you to DAV Department of New York for welcoming HicksStrong Inc. and allowing us the opportunity to connect with so many incredible individuals.

Throughout the day, we gave out 60 Hug Mugs, shared countless hugs, and had conversations that reminded us of the power of human connection.

Sometimes the simplest acts—a hug, a listening ear, a hug mug as a message of hope—can make all the difference.

Every story shared and every connection made reinforces why HicksStrong exists: to honor Macoy's legacy and to ensure that no one walks through their struggles alone.

To everyone we met today: thank you for your openness, your kindness, and your support. Together, we continue the mission of saving lives, one connection at a time.

Today HicksStrong had the honor of speaking with Sailors at a local Navy base about mental health, connection, and the importance of reaching out for support. ❤️⚓

We shared our story, handed out Hug Mugs, gave lots of hugs, and spent meaningful time connecting with Sailors. Afterward, many stayed to paint unique Hug Mugs for other service members - each one becoming a reminder that no one has to carry life’s struggles alone.

What started as a conversation turned into moments of laughter, creativity, healing, and connection.

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who helped make today possible. Your compassion and support helped create a safe and welcoming space for these Sailors.

Seeing service members sit together, paint, open up, and simply take a moment to breathe reminded us exactly why this mission matters.

Every conversation matters.
Every connection matters.
Every life matters.

June is PTSD Awareness Month. 🎗️🎖️

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder affects many of our brave service members, veterans, and their families. It is a hidden battle that no one should have to fight alone. At HicksStrong, we are dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in the military community.

True strength isn't about carrying the weight of trauma in silence—it’s about having the courage to reach out, share your story, and heal.

Sometimes things do not go as planned — and that is okay.

At this time, HicksStrong’s Community Meditation Nights will be postponed due to low registration.

While we were hopeful to launch this program in June, we also understand that building new wellness initiatives takes time, community interest, and the right moment.

Mental health and wellness remain deeply important to our mission. We still believe in creating spaces where people can slow down, connect, heal, and support one another — especially our active duty service members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

To everyone who shared the program, encouraged us, or supported the idea — thank you. Your support means more than you know.

This is not goodbye to the program, just a pause while we regroup and explore the best way to move forward.

As always, HicksStrong remains committed to saving military lives and continuing the work that started in honor of Macoy.

Life can be stressful for all of us. Sometimes we just need a moment to slow down, breathe, and reset.

Starting June 1st, HicksStrong is opening our Intro to Meditation program to the entire community while continuing to support active duty service members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

In the midst of our freedoms, let us pause... to remember.

As you enjoy your Memorial Day BBQs and celebrations, pause for a moment to honor those who gave everything. The freedom to gather, laugh, and eat is paid for by those who sacrificed their lives for our country. Let us respect those we have lost and their families, who observe this as a day of sad remembrance.

Take a moment to say their names today. Put names in the comments of military members you know who have passed, so we can all say their names.
