2026-27 Block of the Month: Radiant Compass

Break out your add-a-quarter ruler, seam roller, and get ready for some foundation paper piecing fun!

Radiant Compass, is a 41" x 41" quilt with a central star radiating out in warm peach and cream fabrics contrasted by rich magenta and deep teal blue.

A heads up that this year looks a little different from last year. We are doing foundation paper piecing instead of traditional piecing, which means you will be cutting as you sew rather than getting everything precut up front. To make the FPP as painless as possible, all the foundation papers come on a single 36" x 55" sheet, so there are no taping pages together.

The papers have a symbol based color code on every piece so you can easily know what color goes where (or swap out a fabric if you want a different look)

Nine blocks across ten months, September 2026 through June 2027, with that last month for putting the top together and quilting!

$30 one-time payment
The whole year's kit is ready for pickup at the September meeting.
All top and binding fabric plus the full-size foundation paper sheet
An 8.5” by 11” color direction sheet
Finished size: 41" x 41"

If you love the pattern but not the colors?

This year we are offering a pattern only option! If you don’t love the colors and would rather pick your own we are offering the pattern only for $10.00. You will get the instruction sheet and the large format FPP paper to design your own colorway.
