CKMC Civic Association The CKMCCA Board: Shanley Alber, Bryon Backenson, Chris Collet, Deb Jackowski,Kathy Lamanna-Friedman, Amy McGeary, Kevin Simon & Sheila Suozzo

The Clifton Knolls Civic Association was founded in August of 1962, less
than two years after the first families moved into the development. From
impromptu meetings, softball games and potluck dinners evolved a formal
not-for-profit association with a constitution and a set of goals for its neighborhood. Today, the association represents approximately 900 homes, including
the Mill Creek developmen

t, and is now proudly referred to as the
Clifton Knolls Mill Creek Civic Association or CKMCCA. The first News & Views issues were typed on ditto masters and hand
delivered to mailboxes. Beginning in 1967 the News & Views was mailed
to all resident in the Knolls and, still today, continues its tradition of keeping
residents informed of association activities and local news affecting our
neighborhood. Social activities and civic pride have been hallmarks of the association
for the past 40 years. Events such as the Wine and Cheese Party and
Field Day brought residents together in the early years. Now, the CKMCCA
brings us closer by communicating issues that directly impact the
neighborhood and continues to sponsor social activities for residents and
their children. As an encouragement to our young citizens, the civic association
offers a scholarship award to a graduating high school senior who
has not only excelled in academic and extra-curricular activities but who
has distinguished him or herself in service to the community. Over the last 40 plus years, the association has been fortunate that the
community spirited residents have always been willing to step forward to
help provide services and activities for its neighbors. This year’s Board of
Directors is proud to be part of that tradition.
